Before barrows came out in 2005, dragon was the best armor and extremely expensive. Rune armor was the only alternative that could be player created. Times have changed and rune armor is no longer the best non degradable armor and as more people train smithing you start to lose tons of money trying to smith anything for the most part.

Smithing *DOES* need an update.

In regards to the Fountain of Rune, I would like it to function similar to the ZMI alter, giving runecrafters somewhat higher xp, at the cost of high profits. In order to make it risky to do so, you would either need a glory, or a new tiara with a fair alch value only dropped by the new bosses in order to use the FoR as an alter.

I forgot to mention, if you did craft at the FoR, you would be skulled, so you would risk your glory/tiara, similar to the abyss, but more dangerous, being in level 50+ wildy.

Black chins?? Support!

Certainly, while we're discussing Chinchompas i want the PRE EOC skeleton respawn mechanics!

It was more convenient but still required full attention, the experience rates would remain the same give or take.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I can just see a large market for high level smithers buying and repairing these armors and since they will be the best in-game it will be extremely benificial to train smithing as the cost of buying/selling armor without the ability to repair it will be high as players will buy the degraded armor for significantly less than the non-degraded for obvious reasons.

Not only this but because of what u just said the noted addy bars from avansies are useless because nobody really wants or needs to train smithing. Give smithing a reason to be trained and you increase the demand for addy bars and even further increase wilderness activity.

Finally i am assuming the PVP armor would be set to degrade to nothing like they did in the original version so giving players a 75% chance to keep their armor is better than 0%.

You could even combine multiple broken pieces into a functioning 1

looks good, one thing id suggest though would be to buff the xp gain from the new thieving chests to make it comparable to pyramid plunder xp rates at the same lvl. Right now its much better to just stick around in the desert.

Thanks,
