No, I don't. In fact, I believe if you're going to suggest that it's the same as suggesting remove all polls because you are only wanting yes votes on everything. Would you feel the same way when they offered eoc? We saw how well that worked.

Well let's analyze the EOC poll with my policy in place. The Old School community really hates the idea of EOC so they would vote no. Also, even I would vote no.

If EOC did pass, I would be extremely happy about being blocked from doing it. I voted "no, i dont want it" - i am getting exactly what i asked for.

I am all ears for any solutions you may have, in regards to Old School updates being hard to pass AND revenge voting.

Excellent! Great work osrs team :) very excited for Sailing, and hopefully the haters will retreat and realise that this Skill will be fantastic for Old School RuneScape in so many ways!

Why are they putting this on 07 when is a old game is not new sailing should be more on runescape 3! not an a old game i agree if it was a minigame but a skill no that just messed up we dont need another skill for everyone who is bored i understand then move on to another game or make a new account like a iron man or a pure please we dont need something that could mess up the game or graphics of 07 runescape classic is ment to be classic not into a RS3 type game ! sailing should be on RS3 not 07 !! so please and let us vote if we want this the community is for us to decide we should make a poll for this to decide should we have it or not u cant force it in 2016 it make people mad and leave the game look whae we done in our past history u people are gonna repeat history if u contnuie let jagex to what they wanna do we have take back the community stop people from doing this !

Those worlds already exist. It's called Runescape Classic.

Oldschool Runescape is not about "no updates". It is about starting with the 2007 base, and taking the game into an entirely new direction than RS3. Without progress the game would die.

God Wars Dungeon, Rooftop Agility, Grand Exchange - how long do you think oldschool would have maintained these huge player numbers without releasing such updates? It would stagnate and eventually dry up, like Runescape Classic.

Old School RuneScape is also not about dumping in as much as you can in as short a time as possible.. that's RS3.

You claim the worlds I suggest already exist (Classic v OSRS) then I'll claim the one you want already exists (RS3 v OSRS).


RS3 do not have the safety mechanism built in of all updates requiring 75% of poll passing. Updates can be added when they want. Very recently they have started to do polls, but these are not for all updates, and this was not done for the period of 2007-2014.

Oldschool goes back to the game base of 2007, and it has a safety mechanism built in to block bad updates. This poll system of 75% works well for the most part, but there are some significant problems:

1) revenge voting
2) major updates, which are not recycled content (GWD****, Dungeoneering), are almost impossible to pass a poll due to instant no-voters. Many people have made their decision on sailing as a "no" even though Mod Ronan said they want to listen and do it the way players want.

I like the sound of this update. If done right, and if aided by ideas by the creativity of the community, this could be a massive success. Keep these Dev Blogs coming, with more information and answered questions please. Also, if this fails the poll, will we still be getting 2 more developers in old school?

and not turned into RS3, that's the reason why we play OSRS, please keep it that way, otherwise there's no point.

Summoning came out way before RS3 and even before RS HD. It's pretty oldschool.

, If they were to add summoning it would be anything but unique, it would just be anther copy and paste job.

Also a little FYI, Summoning was voted on almost a year ago now and it failed hard.

First you say sailing should be for RS3, it is not "old school".

Then you say if sailing was done as a minigame you would agree. I thought sailing wasn't "old school" enough?

You are spot on. Old school being unique is a good selling point. On the original Sailing Dev blog, many rs3 players posted and asked "will this be on rs3 too?"

They liked the look of it and wanted it for their own game! If we just recycle and copy things from RS3 for every update and every skill, we are not unique.
We are not going our own way.
We are not creating a seperate game.
We are just a mere clone of rs3, with bad graphics.

The unique content (like rooftop agility) is extremely exciting, especially for the first time. It gives you back the noobish exploration feeling, and it feels good having some content rs3 do not have.
