Really looking forward to seeing this new skill ingame, I'm loving the direction that the developers have taken. However, if this doesn't pass (which I fear it won't) then the community clearly has a problem with change, whether it's bad or good. I'm seeing many arguments for skills we've already seen such as dungeoneering or summoning..To me it seems like the majority of the playerbase are attempting to recreate runescape pre-eoc, bringing in all of the features (except a few) in order to do this. This is the WRONG direction guys, think of being original instead of repeating the past again.

In short, sailing would be a great addition and there seriously needs to be a change in most players mindset.

Dungeoneering would be fine in osrs as a MINIGAME, not a skill. The rewards it had before do not have to be a part of it, if it were even brought into osrs. Keep in mind that not all of the former Dungeoneering rewards were overpowered, combat related items. Some were very useful for skilling and unlocking additional resource and combat areas. Perhaps if there was a time limit you could spend in these new resource and combat areas, and one would have to earn more time by doing more Dungeoneering, then this would be appropriate to offer as a reward if the MINIGAME Dungeoneering were a part of osrs.

Summoning for sure is a no-go. I cannot envision how it would benefit osrs at all. Sailing is an excellent idea however I wish it would open more chances and opportunities to combat new, more powerful metal dragons and monster bosses. I may be mistaken on this but I cannot shake the feeling that it will only bring skiller and pvp updates along with it......

Dungeoneering was a good aspect of the game, you could lose your bank and you'd have been able to rebuild your bank with chaotic weapons. Also that the mini-games were fun, you would only being playing with active users "no bots". Requires multiple interactions with community players to enable you to complete the floor much more smoother + faster. It was a great way to interact with people and socialize. Set stuff to private because I know you'll have the odd weirdo looking up your profile :P

I do rather look forward to seeing all the details of Sailing. Expanding the game world leads to better means of training, more unique maps and places to explore, and my personal favorite: the opportunity for new quests.

Being a 10+ year veteran of RS and seeing the level of impact had on the game and its community from large content updates, this whole shabang has the opportunity to drive great improvement or be a huge failure- and being that the dedicated OSRS team literally keeps us up to date with every detail of any added content, I have high hopes for this.

I don't want Sailing as a skill. Don't bring Sailing as a skill. If you insist on it, regardless what we vote, then make it a mini. Don't destroy OS. I'm for old things from the good old days brought to the game, but not things from 3. The reason I'm not on 3, is I hated it, and I'm one that beta tested it, and voted NOOOO....

This is not aiming to become like RuneScape 3.. didn't you read anything Mod Ronan said in this thread? he said he's aiming to take Old School in different direction to RuneScape 3 this is why they're deciding on Sailing and not Summoning and Dungeoneering.

With that being said the games got to change this isn't "2007" this is Old School meaning the fighting style is staying the same however the game will continue to change if you really don't want new updates you're on the wrong game because it's aiming to do content voted by players for years to come also the Zeah update is 50 times bigger of an update and way more content being added with that being said theres no need to be angry at Sailing when you relise Zeah is 100% coming next year and that'll be way more content than Sailing will ever release.

I'm voting yes on the day due to the game will go in a new and improved direction and will give us new content and updates within' the future which I am excited to see in years to come.

I am very excited for this update! I am playing both RS3 and OSRS actively and it is great to play two games with very regular updates that clearly go into two different directions. Also a big fan of the fact that doing sailing alone can deliver the best xp rates, that was one of the few things i did not like about dungeoneering. I will be voting YES and would be very dissapointed if the poll did not pass.

EDIT: Please Jagex, make it so that only the people that have read the devblogs can vote, I'm sure you lot can figure something out! :)
