Many players in the oldschool runescape community want the rest feature to be re-implemented. I would love to see rest back in the game

OMG really?? All I'm starting to see is RS3 all over again.
whats next portals everywhere? might as well bring ZMI and summoning back as well .. what exactly was the point in OS? or is it to slowly introduce RS3 so you can just combine the game as one again??

Exactly! The point of OSRS was to keep it the way it was back in 2007. The point is to not change it by making updates or else it will inevitably turn back into RS3 again. C'mon people we're defeating the purpose of this game. NO MORE UPDATES (other than changing the varrock guards back to the old way with bronze swords and med helms, and bringing back the parchment-themed four buttons at the bottom of the screen, classic) ;)

Yeah the game needs updates, that being said, I think rest features and construction shortcuts along with enhanced potions and possibly AFK mining (not sure until we see this actually in-game) and range attacks that can freeze. All of these, to me, look like overpowered things, that I would expect to find in RS3.

No thanks for rest feature or construction shortcuts, might as well just remove agility right now for all the good it would do.

Why i feel some of the potential update could ruin the balance of the game.

Potion Enhancer, for starter herblore may need some higher tier content however i believe making any combat related potions un-tradeable would create a massive problem for most players as they'd be at a massive disadvantage against players with high herblore and construction.

In EOC bossing practically became impossible for anyone without overloads and extremes. If herblorists get an advantage in combat from having a high level, well then why not just make a new 90+ fletching bow that's super powerful and non tradeable or nontadeable food that heals 30 with 99 cooking or a super rune that can only be made with rc and isn't tradeable and give you super powerful spell?

Answer is because non-combat skills shouldn't give a direct advantage in any combat situation weather it's in pvp or pvm

To be honest, I don't like these kind of updates being made to 07, this is just an opinion. Old school Runescape was meant to be placed in the time of 2007. With all these updates and changes being made to the game, its becoming more modern just with different graphics. If it were my choice, I would keep 2007 the way it is without giving people these "buffs" and work on new weapons and bosses. With all these updates, OSRS is losing its authentic old school play style and feel.

so if campfires is such an "illogical" idea. how would you expand the skill? not everyone here wants to go *click click click x100k*. also i stated the run restore effect can be taken off. seems like a logical idea to me.

If I'm not mistaken, Mat said he wanted ideas that weren't a copy of RS3. Seems like the campfires is exactly like bonfires. I may be misinterpreting it, but right now that's all I see it as.
Explosive mining & shortcuts are the only 'unique' submissions up for polls imo. The others I can relate to content in RS3.
if i recall Mod Reach said he wanted bonfires back in oldschool. he said he liked the concept of it. and i actually agree with him bonfires was a very sociable update. also it's better than clicking 100k+ times or until your finger falls off. either one will probably make you not want to train the skill anymore.....

trust me no ones fingers will fall off from firemaking.. firemaking is infact one of the fastest skills out there with little to no cost if you use maples.. therefore why ppl consider it kind of a noob cape for how fast it is to get.

If you feel that i would reccomend voting no.. People dont see voting no to things isnt always a bad thing... especially with these player made content suggestions there rly crappy.

The flame arrows are a good idea, but they shouldn't freeze you like barrage does. Just let them do extra damage. You could make bows on which you could attach a torch. Then equip arrows with cloth soaked in oil, and when you shoot the arrows with your bow they'll be lit by the torch attached to it. I agree with "ags styles" though that skilling shouldn't be required for somebody to be effective in Pvp/Pvm.

I don't think anyone ever liked the ebola things you could use to freeze opponents. My friends all thought they were stupid as it kind of destroyed the way hybridding worked. Ebolas weren't really a threat to magic because they did no damage. But if these fire arrows do a lot of damage and freeze at the same time the wilderness will be full of worthless raggers in black dhide rather than people in mystic you'd actually want to kill for loot.

I've been a range/mage hybrid for 5 years and even I thought that ranged isn't supposed to freeze.
