*sub note. Should add vote option "Bad Ideas" Since those are well. Bad ideas, and the Runescape community should be able to express our dislikes on the polls!

I think I'm starting to like you

The motherload mine:
1. Washing "dirt" to recieve your ore is stupid. You should get it as soon as you mine it.
2. I hate the smoking rock random and pickaxe flying off. If those had not been mentioned I would have liked this idea more.
3. It sounds like you would get less xp here than you would power mining iron. I also don't want to have to fix random stuff when I only want mining xp.
4. I don't care about the outfit.
5. I do like the concentrated ore idea, but that's about it.

The whole point is to make it less xp/hr than powermining iron or granite. I want an alternative to them not to undermine them (sorry for the pun). Also, if we just got the ore out of them I should have just called it the Living Rock Caverns, because that's all it would be. I wanted to make something a little different, with xp boosting clothing as a reward. I you don't care about the outfit, that's up to you.

I didn't want to "break" mining, I wanted to improve and expand it.

Also, to those of you who wanted a "bad ideas" option, just vote no on the next poll. Easy enough. Then they'll make another contest and the cycle will continue.

I think that after the development blog is written, players should be able to give feedback on the idea so that we may adjust it to make it better. Straight up adding the raw idea is rarely the best thing to do.
I agree.

Thank you for clarifying. People need to understand that it won't make mining any easier, just make it more enjoyable and give you something to work for.

If the next poll doesn't pass will they give us more to choose from? Or just scrap this years PDC?
They are going to release a design document about the update itself, containing all the details and us players can give feedback about what we want to change, followed by the poll. If it fails, they will most likely change what the players dislike and then repoll it.

I would like to defend my flaming arrows idea by saying a few things:

1. I wrote up my suggestion literally 30 minutes after they said they were accepting submissions
2. Keeping 1 in mind: if the arrows were to have a small % chance of hitting higher (rather than freezing or paralyzing), that would be acceptable. Freezing was me just playing with the ebola idea (which obs upsets quite a few people)
3. I came up with the idea to give firemaking something it has NEVER had....a way to be profitable and actually do something USEFUL.
4. I was trying to be clever with the process of making the arrows by integrating it into the current sort of way the game works. It was going to play into the lore of Underground Pass.
5. The intent was to give some actual value to cloth and rope. Clearly, what I intended but did not detail is that one would need to attach cloth and rope to the arrows and then light them on fire.
6. I wanted to tie in combat because that seems to be where a lot of the community is at and it just makes firemaking have more depth.
7. Why do people just accept that bolts have to be better than arrows? I wanted to challenge that system.

:3 that is all.

I didn't like the hidey-holes being permanent. I would like construction shortcuts if you are required to use some nails and a hammer EVERY time you use one. Especially if they are going to involve the wilderness, let the nails required have a decent value so we're not just giving free unlimited shortcuts away. This has the added benefit of giving me some reason to hang onto random nails I come across; currently they are rarely required for anything beyond a fairly low level of construction or a quest here and there.

A POH potion-boosting feature I would definitely use as long as it isn't limited to combat potions. There should be an XP penalty of up to 50%. Else even with having to wait for a butler people will buy potions and herbs just to make untradeable potions they're never going to use. This might happen anyway to some extent, but some herbs could actually use a boost in demand.

With the above considerations those two submissions would be my choice; I have no interest in the rest, except flaming arrows which I thought should have had some place in the game beyond underground pass.
