Because resting is bad.

It devalues agility, and at the risk of sounding cliched, it makes the game too easy.

And I don't see why we need a Hitpoints boost. If you want higher Hitpoints...get a higher Hitpoints level? :P that can be taken off? also the boost gives you hp over time. why should i spend weeks training a skill when i can burn an invy of mage logs for more hp? think about that one.

Which is why it's too easy. I might be someone biased since I have 99 Hitpoints, but in my opinion hitpoints should actually be valuable. Besides, with Nightmare Zone, getting a hitpoints cape isn't exactly the hardest 99 out there. i wouldn't use the word "easy". it helps people out by boosting their hp for a certain amount of time. having a higher or lower hp shouldn't matter. i guess the only difference really is the more hp you have the more hp boost you get. which can still be a reason for people to get higher hp. OS Status: Nothing atm.

RS3 Status: 120 Slayer done now onto figuring out what I should do next.

I'll be honest.. Didn't read all of it but I did read campfires.. I think that'd be a great feature, it'd finally give somewhat of a purpose to firemaking other than just to get to max or a quest.

So you're telling me if you were questing or doing a skill that required a lot of running you would use 5-7 inventory spaces to make a campfire to fill your run once? I agree firemaking needs help, but this idea is illogical and inefficient. so if campfires is such an "illogical" idea. how would you expand the skill? not everyone here wants to go *click click click x100k*. also i stated the run restore effect can be taken off. seems like a logical idea to me. OS Status: Nothing atm.

Many players in the oldschool runescape community want the rest feature to be re-implemented. I would love to see rest back in the game

OMG really?? All I'm starting to see is RS3 all over again.
whats next portals everywhere? might as well bring ZMI and summoning back as well .. what exactly was the point in OS? or is it to slowly introduce RS3 so you can just combine the game as one again??

If I'm not mistaken, Mat said he wanted ideas that weren't a copy of RS3. Seems like the campfires is exactly like bonfires. I may be misinterpreting it, but right now that's all I see it as.
Explosive mining & shortcuts are the only 'unique' submissions up for polls imo. The others I can relate to content in RS3. Everything stated here is forwarded from a major corporation. Nothing here is my opinion. Enjoy your salad.

The others I can relate to content in RS3. if i recall Mod Reach said he wanted bonfires back in oldschool. he said he liked the concept of it. and i actually agree with him bonfires was a very sociable update. also it's better than clicking 100k+ times or until your finger falls off. either one will probably make you not want to train the skill anymore..... @either one will probably make you not want to train the skill anymore.....
yet back in 07 firemaking was many players FIRST cape ..
go figure couldn't of been that bad .. as for training it after 99 there are a few skills people don't want to train after 99. .(personally I dont see the point in 99 fm except to max)

Again another skill that sounds like its more what the mods want than the players ...
so far the MODS WANT:
bonfires
rest areas
whats next? I thought it was year of the player not year of the mod

This is extremely disappointing if true. Quotes and QFC's or Mod confirmation would be appreciated.

Isn't that in the introduction for the campfire idea written by the idea creator and not Mod Mat himself?? I'm confused :@
