Did ironman split the community? I don't think so, I think it added another community that lets people play the game a way they never would have before, I'm currently unsubbed to RS but if Deadman makes it then I will be immediately subscribing and playing the crap out of it and I can bet you I'm not the only one.

being able to protect 5 skill levels seem a little overpowered to me unless you specify you can only protect 2 combat and 3 non-combat skills (at most) instead of all 5 meele skills as you could easily maintain max meele eventually when you reach that level considering its 5x the exp and can be achieved quickly. As being able to maintain meele stats kinda defeats the purpose of deadman mode entirely.

How exactly is this splitting the community up? Its pretty much just moving some PKers from the wilderness to another world, some unsubscribed people to subscribe and maybe some average player to give it a try.

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! Thank you! I love the whole idea! cannot wait to be a deadman xD.
Also, will we be allowed to play on our regular accounts and switch to deadman mode when we enter a deadman world? I mean it would be great to be able to have deadman mode onto a single account instead of having two; saves the hassle of creating another account and it means more people joining into a deadman world when they are bored. Of course the stats obtained in a normal world will remain the same but in a deadman world everyone starts off at zero.

SUGGESTIONS:

- Safe zones should only be at banks! If you're going to keep safe zones like this then don't let these give you 5x XP gains, make it normal on safe zones and 5x everywhere else. Also, Deadman Hiscores should be completely separate from any other hiscores because of this.

- Most likely there would be more Pkers than skillers around this mode, so it'd be more common to protect your combat skills from downgrading... there should be a restriction: if you're (not) skulled you would be able to protect combat skills, if you're skulled you shouldn't be able to protect combat skills...

- If you're (not) skulled, you shouldn't lose 50% your XP, make it 15% loss or something else instead.

- You should be stopped from attacking/being attacked for a few minutes right after you die.

- If you kill someone who has killed someone, you should receive
both keys. If you were dealt damage from more than one player, your key goes to the player who dealt the most damage by common sense.
