This fits exactly into my point. It's a waste of Dev Time and being forced upon us by hype. Mat K said it was a good idea... well, Mod Mark said the same about EoC. Look what has happened to "Runescape 3." Tell me it was a good idea? I'll counter you with two laughable words: Legacy Mode.

Legacy Mode? OH HEY ANOTHER MODE TO COVER YOUR MISTAKES!?!? There's no mode to cancel this. Once it's done it's done.

This sounds sooo cool! Would love to try it out! :D

BUT

If you respawn, you lose all items in your inventory and your bank can be looted.
The problem for people might be that:

After respawning the other player COULD take your (s)killing equipment (hatchet, pickaxe, sword), making it impossible to continue getting your stats back up and gather items.

My suggestiong is therefore that you will get Untradeable basic equipment (bronze pickaxe/hatchet/sword, etc)so that you are not completely helpless on respawn

Let's transition perfectly into the ddos issue. Players will be punished to the point of no sympathy. All of their beloved work will be gone and so will their admiration for this game.


Do you really want to do this!? Just because Mat K said it was a cool idea on stream? Should we let the game as a whole suffer for the mistake of one person? Let's see, why is this familiar? Oh, right, Evolution of Combat and Mod Mark. Our game has quickly dropped from 50K to 40K player base. Our game has made a 10,000 USD PvP tournament to try to hype PvP. PvP is already in trouble as is all of our unfulfilled content. Please CANCEL this terrible update before it's too late. I get people are blinded by hype, but maybe they should take a second to consider the risks this update will bring.

Looks pretty good. Good choice with setting back 7 levels (i.e. halving exp) as the penalty. But I do have some questions and concerns...

How exactly do bank keys effect your bank? The blog says "Any items they do not take will be returned to your bank"; so does that imply you have no bank until they use the key? Or do they get to access your bank whenever you kill the key; potentially days after they killed you? If it is the first (no bank until they use key), a player could effectively lock you out of your untradeable; but if it is the second (take from bank whenever) they could wait until you stockpile more items and them take it all.

My next concern is with "The only limit on what you can take is that you can't touch untradeable items" line. So does this mean things like Void and the RFD weapons would be items you never lose? Can you retrieve your untradeable items after you die as well? What about dropping items before you die and running back to pick them up? I am just worried that players could use certain untradeable items to abuse the system by having effective weapons and armor that can never be lost.

And lastly, what about other nest eggs? Do you lose items from Costume Room? Or Money in Kingdom? What about hiding all your valuable items in a Looting Bag since it untradable?

And lastly, what about safe minigames? Would you still keep items and levels if you died in a safe area, or do no such zones exist? Would it even be possible to get things like Void Armor or a Torso (e.g. will there be guards to deter skulling) or will players likely camp those zones and prevent anyone from getting them?

Yo Ronan. I love the idea and all, but i cannot see who you are marketing this at. Most current players do not want to pay for another account just to be able to do this mode and if released for free to play version as well, that would be boring as the top obtainable tier would be adamant and only partially at that. Furthermore, this mode would not attract any new players who hadn't played runescape before as most people who don't play runescape do not play it because the grind/amount of time sink/outdated graphics, which this mode fixes none of.
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

Quit your whining. This is nothing like EoC. The EoC came into the game because the players weren't given a choice. The only data they had was a minimal survey that could only be accessed by playing the beta. This game mode won't come in unless it has 75 percent votes. Stop overreacting.

I'm not a huge fan of this mode. I'd much rather prefer speedrounds with increased xp rates, depending on how long the rounds last - only a few days, a week or maybe 2 max. Length and xp rates rotating after every round to keep it fresh.
This is a competition purely for highscores, to see, who can get up the highest in a limited amount of time. Winner of these rounds will have their name on the top of the highscores for this round forever. Or maybe set different goals every round to spice it up a bit.
The game I played before discovering RS offered one of those speedrounds alongside their normal game and it was the most fun I ever had.

Maybe consider asking the community if they'd like this?
