Haha this sounds minty fresh, I love this idea.

It reminds me of the southpark episode where Kenny, Kyle, Cartman and Stan kill 50,000 boars so they can take down the MVP, classic. would definately play this!
But could also see myself getting sick of it due to massive losses on death and slow xp gain of osrs

Deadman mode will be a GREATEST MODE jagex ever made. As they said Deadman mode is focusing on PVP. So jagex need to take note about PVPERS behaviour :
1. Hate skilling.
2. Aggresive behaviour(Cursing and taunting)
3. Like the action than the game itself.

I disagree making players lost 7 level due to number 1 behaviour which will be the biggest downfall for deadman mode. But REDUCING THE STATUS LEVEL is not a bad idea. For example when your killed, your skill status is reduced by 7 for 30min or more as a penalty which effect the player especially prayer for the time being especially in war and cannot be restore by anything.

This is ridiculous.

For one, how are people expected to progress through the game?
How are people expected to collect resources, i.e mining, hunter, fishing without exposing themselves to the risks of losing their levels as well as a key to their banks?

Not to mention that a lot of the valuable items we accommodate for PKing come from PVM situations. How exactly are people meant to PVM when a group of players could reach them mid-kill, unable to logout, and have their remaining supplies stolen?

The first day of this mode will be pretty silly.

You won't be able to do anything like training on cows, without getting ganged by about 20 people. Think about it a second please.

Imagine the cow fields, it will be the most chaotic frustrating gameplay ever devised.

And if you do manage to level up a bit, you won't survive long, since you will be constantly ganged.

It sounds frustrating beyond frustration, and I even do think the mode has some merit.

What is stopping someone from killing you multiple times everytime you leave lumbridge spawn to just train on cows or chickens? Please think just a bit about the ACTUAL logistics.

Leave lumbridge, die, leave lumby, die...and so on for hours. Your character is still level 1 at all stats after 5 hours because of the SWARMS of people around lumbridge attacking everything that moves an inch. Fun? I don't know about that.

Someone MIGHT actually run far enough to escape the chaos of the cow field area, and become super powerful, all because they found a training spot FAR away from the gobs of people. The trick is to run the gauntlet and hide out.

Is that supposed to indicate SKILL? To be able to make it through the 123857135 people around the lumbridge area the first day? And then to find some far away goblin to train on in relative peace.

My suggestions:

Keep the whole 'clear out the bank' idea...that's brutal but ok.

You do NOT lose levels on death, losing bank is horrible penalty enough.

You can be killed a limit of only 3 times per hour. So eventually you WILL die over the course of various days and weeks, but you will at least SLOWLY be making progress.

Once you die your limit for the hour, you cannot be attacked by other players. Perhaps even have a timer. To prevent abuse, allow a player to only attack another specific player 2 times per hour. And somehow prevent boosting (players intentionally dying their limit each hour to the same set of players).

It will still be a brutal ultimate ironman deadly mode, but won't be so INSANELY frustrating.

TLDR: Have a limit of how many times you can be killed/attacked by other players per hour (like 3-5). And don't lose levels on death.

This mode has a lot of promise, tho, and I will vote yes to it...it just needs serious tweaking to be even slightly tolerable.

Another idea, is to randomize spawn points throughout the world, so you can't just get multi-killed 35173241 daily around lumbridge. So you die, and spawn in fally, then you spawn in yanille, then in camelot, etc.

Deadman Mode

It may be a great idea for newcomers and PVP players.. Unfortunately the 1 fatal plot in this would have to be Unstabled servers and the DDOS attacks that been happening frequently. Now I'm not saying JAGEX doing there job.. but however, I Rather see a
Server UPDATE
before another RuneScape game content comes out.

And just abit of curiosity.. Since Deadman Mode be a slaughter house for all PVP people.. and when killed stats lowered by 7 levels!!! really do think time reduction on this be better idea..

Would this be a " FREE " member all around RuneScape DeadMan Mode??
To Be Honest I can't see myself paying members for it.. and yes probably could use your own accounts.. but there could also be sum flaws and bugs.. that bug abuser will find.

However I am looking forward to seeing new slayer bosses and other upcoming ideas for OSRS. ^_^

Iron Sentrai said :
Lowered world limits should be a must, maybe to 500 or something. Running around with 1999 other players would be too much for anybody to handle, everywhere would be cramped and there'll be an overcrowded killing fest at every mid level monster. An idea I had for the world set-up is, players do not get to choose their world when they log in (Apart from their closest based host), they are instead put in to a world with a set amount of other players and they can only join this server for the rest of their play time. If a player has been offline for a certain amount of time, they will be removed from the world and replaced with an active player (although this could act as world changing). Players can choose whether to join a world with their friends or play solo before creating their character, if they want to play with friends, they should be able to but their current account is reset when changing world. Not sure if any other game has a similar world/server system as this, this was entirely my thinking.

That idea completely ruins the teamwork aspect of this game mode.
