How are you "losing" money? Are you still gathering stuff? Are you still creating things from raw materials? Was that a yes and a yes I heard? Good. Did you know all these things are tradeable for a currency known as GP via the G.E, which is, if you didn't know, the Grand Exchange. You know, that thing that lets you sell items for money. That's just ****ing insane! How could there be such a technique?! I'm calling hax on this one.
You just dont get it. Is skilling just about gathering resources?? What about herblore, smithing, cooking and so on? For instance, do you steal herbs seeds from master farmer, then sow them, then pick herbs, then add them to potions? No, you just buy herbs and 2nd ingredients and make potions+ gain herblore xp. Then you could sell them for profit. Now with GEX we have herb, 2nd ingredient and potion prices adjusted : herb price + 2nd price >> potion price. So you either gather your own resources or loose money by leveling up herblore. It's the same with smith, cooking, fletch, ect. With trading post you could sell: herb price + 2nd price << potion price, because there were allways few guys selling stuff for lower price, but their private chat used to be off, so people bought stuff for higher prices.
So I dont want Runescape to be like: pay for skilling or gather your own. Its interesting to gather when you are low level and you need small amounts. But what about 10k yew logs to get few fletching levels at higher levels? By the way, for gathering there is allways an IRON MAN mode!
As I said before, GEX is favourable for combaters.
Strongly disagree to GEX. Ruined my joy of skilling
I think what he means is that the GE dramatically lowers the profits of skillers, making any non combat skills less viable than combat in terms of gp/hour. The GE lowers the price of things like ores, logs, gems, etc. That's obviously bad for skillers who do a lot of gathering. Likewise, the price of things like yew longbows also goes down which is bad for fletchers. The GE does kinda ***** over skillers, there's little question about it.
Totally agree. You see, GEX adjust prices automatically, lets say people buy materials and make items if its profitable. Now with GEX the material price increases constantly because of demand and the item price drops steadily because of supply. At the end we get material price= item price. But since there are people who wish to increase skill levels no matter what, we get material demand and item supply even bigger what makes: material price > item price.

bonds shouldn't be obtainable through real money. at least poll how they should come into the game.
That's basically 100% against why Jagex ever introduced Bonds...
They can't let people have membership without SOMEONE paying €/$/£ for it.
The reason why bonds where even brought up for osrs was for people to use in game gp to pay for members. So if they use a ncp that sells bonds for a static price only changeable by jmods, they will create a gp sink, people can pay gp for members, and avoid the whole "buy your way to success" aspect.

Totally true. I feel like the Oldschool team should really be putting more thought/consideration into their updates. In other games the devs weigh their update choices very carefully, considering even the most minute drawbacks of adding/changing content. Does Jagex do this at all? Lol no. The GE makes RS a 75% combat oriented game, and the devs either don't realize this or want it that way.
