Iv been trying to continue playing the game and not let the G.E. ruin it for me, but it honestly has, I never had an issue buying or selling items for the two years this has been running.

The amount of things that have been let slide in game, splashing, afk nmz, G.E. are destroying the version of the game that veterans returned to play.

This. If I wanted afk training and GE and such, I'd play RS3, which I do, I also played old school for the nostalgia but it's just slowly turning into a bad looking rs3...

Also it takes forever for stuff to buy/sell, cant just simply charge my glories which was easy to do in w2 before the GE.

Do we have to have a wall around the Grand Exchange?

I used to use the spirit tree to enter the wilderness.

can you put a door/gap north of spirit tree please?

and can we replace the agility shortcut (next to canoe) with an entrance/doorway too please?

or just get rid of the wall sections....

So, if I read your argument correctly (cropped alot of it out for relevance, but the above is the part I wanted to get at) You say that the grand exchange, which released originally in November of 2007, and is a rightful old school update, is ruining the game for you, whereas updates such as: Motherlode mine, Zul-rah and rooftop agility to name a few, were not even in the game originally and have been released regardless of this fact, but yet you're cool with these updates being in? lol.

You also say that *you've* never had a problem buying/selling in the past 2 years, but have you stopped to think that a load of other players that play osrs HAVE had problems? People voted in the GE because they were sick of the scams that went on, and there was little, if not, no real communication worth saving when you did trading face to face.

You also said it only passed because "the way it was forced into game by the thousands of botters who used their accounts to vote it in (if you think that majority of the real runescape players wanted it, you are wrong)" but how can you possibly know this? Unless you are the new analyst for old school, there is no foundation for that quote, it's just words.

Quite frankly, I'm a little surprised that you're a "13 year vet" and yet you want a rightful OSRS 2007 update out, when you want updates with no nostalgia and no history in RuneScape to stay in.

All I have to say is F-ING finally!! I have been waiting for over a year for a reliable trading system. Now I can do slayer and trade all the items I get instead of trying to find that ONE person to trade to. OS Status: Nothing atm.

RS3 Status: 120 Slayer done now onto figuring out what I should do next.

Another step closer and a greater reason to quit. I can see why there was great opposition and support for the GE. I for one voted no, i understood the consequences of this update and can see the toll it is taking. Yes i understand, prices may once again level out but when? Nobody knows, prices may never level out. I agree trading post had its con but defiantly preserved not only prices but the community interaction for making transactions.
I for one never really relied on the market for items other than some higher level combats equipment. When OSRS was first released i was so excited to play a more traditional feel of the game. A game that relied on players. Even with some of the updates, such as new slayer bosses and additions like rooftop agility, i thought were positive. With the introduction of the GE, that feeling of community reliance is lost. I for one made most of my fortune on OSRS through farming/herblore. I have suffered tremendously due to this GE update and blame it on the laziness of players. What made the game better before the GE was the demand. I for one as many other spent numerous hours training and working on skills that made some nice profit margins. With the introduction of the GE, skillers are the ones that will suffer the most. Resource prices are dropping dramatically and i doubt they will ever return to pre GE levels. It will be hard to measure the impact on the player community with f2p now out. I like many of the older rs community members came back to osrs with the expectation of keeping osrs, os.
Why would they release OSRS pre-ge? It is terrible the direction this game has taken, speaking on behalf of the ge. I know this update will have a detrimental effect on preserving the feel and retaining many of the OSRS players that the team re-attracted to the game.
I will try to stay optimistic, but updates like these is what drove me away from the game. Only time will tell the impact and my (and many others) intentions to keep playing.

Though I am sure I will adapt and move forward, I still believe that a GE is too much of a game changer. It is slightly disheartening to see the old ways abandoned so quickly. Simply for the sake of convenience.
