Another step closer and a greater reason to quit. I can see why there was great opposition and support for the GE. I for one voted no, i understood the consequences of this update and can see the toll it is taking. Yes i understand, prices may once again level out but when? Nobody knows, prices may never level out. I agree trading post had its con but defiantly preserved not only prices but the community interaction for making transactions.
I for one never really relied on the market for items other than some higher level combats equipment. When OSRS was first released i was so excited to play a more traditional feel of the game. A game that relied on players. Even with some of the updates, such as new slayer bosses and additions like rooftop agility, i thought were positive. With the introduction of the GE, that feeling of community reliance is lost. I for one made most of my fortune on OSRS through farming/herblore. I have suffered tremendously due to this GE update and blame it on the laziness of players. What made the game better before the GE was the demand. I for one as many other spent numerous hours training and working on skills that made some nice profit margins. With the introduction of the GE, skillers are the ones that will suffer the most. Resource prices are dropping dramatically and i doubt they will ever return to pre GE levels. It will be hard to measure the impact on the player community with f2p now out. I like many of the older rs community members came back to osrs with the expectation of keeping osrs, os.
Why would they release OSRS pre-ge? It is terrible the direction this game has taken, speaking on behalf of the ge. I know this update will have a detrimental effect on preserving the feel and retaining many of the OSRS players that the team re-attracted to the game.
I will try to stay optimistic, but updates like these is what drove me away from the game. Only time will tell the impact and my (and many others) intentions to keep playing.
