When is there a version of Runescape coming without the Grand Exchange?
Lets say really oldschool.
I am a oldschool man, used to play runescape before there was a GE.

I think i am fair to say that i dont see the grand exchange as an upgrade to the actual game as it is today and i rather play a version without one.

This, I'd like a true old school server with no Grand Exchange and other junk updates like that.

Then join a private server. The majority voted for the Grand Exchange so that is what happened.

First and foremost, I'm glad that I wasn't one of the 76% voting cattle and GE noobs and bandwagons. It's ironic that some of the same people who voted for this broken system of trade over TP fallbacks, which would've been a lot better for OSR than just another RS3 feature, are the same ones whining and complaining about the flawed GE system. What did you bloody expect? Along with the rest of the 24% who voted against GE, I, for one, mainly voted against it because of such flaws and proneness to price manipulation. I always tell people the issue isn't whether or not the GE comes out; the real issue is how it'll come out.

As I've stated before, you can make this incarnation of the GE a successful one or a failure, so people need to actually be smart about this whole ordeal this time around. I strongly suggest MAKING ALL OFFERS VIEWABLE like the TP had. Players can decide on the best offer that suits them and have freedom of choice. Also, USE A PRICE RANGE INSTEAD OF A SINGLE GE VALUE! The price range is simply the minimum and maximum price of an item offered per the player base. For example, Player A is selling mind runes at 2 gold each, and Player B is selling mind runes at 6 each, so the GE should accommodate both offers as the minimum and maximum value respectively without taking an average and listing a single price.

Once more, I leave you with the following:

1. Make it so that the GE doesn't formulate, price tag, or set prices (GE values) on items. By doing so, the price can't be easily manipulated, and players won't be coerced into buying or selling at the manipulated "market price" all the time. Also, players will maintain a great degree of control over prices rather than the system telling them a formulated buying or selling price. Instead, the GE or price checker should only provide a price range on an item. That would also eliminate the dreaded hassle of buying or selling at 5% over or under the market price. For example, the price of mind runes would show 3-5 GP instead of 4 GP.

2. Like the TP, the GE should show candidate offers from other players so that players can ultimately decide on the best offer rather than going gung-ho on a totally automated system.

3. Instead of a totally automated system, the GE should have a "Buy from Player X" and "Sell to Player X" option. Afterwards, the money or items can be collected from the collection box or the GE.

4. If players need to price an item, it should be done in the same manner as the GE. It should only include a price range (the minimum and maximum price) without giving an absolute value in a similar fashion as OS Buddy's price checker.

5. The only time the mean price, absolute value, or GE value of an item should be implemented is with Coin Share and Loot Share. Otherwise, buying and selling items should be based on a price range and players' willingness.

6. In the event of a newly-released item, again, no GE-suggested price or market value should be given. It should be entirely up to the players to determine the price range as will all items.

Blame the people who voted "no" during the first trading solution poll. They're the reason we have the Grand Exchange currently. Their refusal to compromise led to this. That being said, I wanted the Grand Exchange from the beginning, so I'm happy with the results; but I would have accepted the automatic trading compromise. Unfortunately, they didn't.

No, that is not what happened. The GE failed the first time around. Jagex just drove away most of the people who opposed it by failing to properly maintain the game and then polled it again lol.

OSRS economy was fine, prices were fine, trading was fine.

I've never had a problem buying/selling anything on OSRS when making smart use of zybez and the trading posts. Always managed to do it at decent prices because you could see the real offers and contact the people behind the offer.

There was no chaos, no panic in the market, prices didnt fall 50% in one day, the econmoy was stable and worked

Grand exchange is out for 9 hours and economy is in total chaos, people are panic selling, every item has crashed. You can't sell anything anymore for a decent price, it is even impossible to know what a decent price is anymore for an item because there is nothing to compare with anymore. No way to see individual offers anymore, no way to know what you can ask or offer anymore. TOTAL CHAOS !

9 hours the damn thing is out

but ow yea 76% wanted it, most people don't understand the consequences of these things. If you'd put the suggestion to the vote that everybody would get a free ely, iam sure you'd also manage to get very big support but it is not in the best interest of the game to do so.

I voted for the Grand Exchange and I knew this would happen. I fail to see why people are surprised it's happening.

It'll be like this for probably a week or two, maybe more, maybe less. Prices will stabilize, and resources will be cheaper.

The reason I voted for the Grand Exchange is, as you said, the "contacting the player part." I had to deal with low-lifes such as people who haggled, scammed, or were just rude. Frankly, I got tired of that.

Resources being cheaper is not a good thing. It makes skilling even less viable gp/hr compared to combat than it already is.
