The trading post had a lot of potential. I feel like the developers are simply going down the exact same path as Runescape went before RS3. Where's the real innovation? If you're determined to use the same ideas and just turn Old school and RS3 into a homogeneous blob, at least tweak those ideas with the essence of old school.
If the GE comes about, which it obviously will, in-game interaction is primarily going to be centralized at the GE. The TP has already proven to be the opposite of intrusive. Why not morph the basics of the GE into the trading post? Banks remain a vital feature and aren't simply cast aside, and people are still spread throughout the entire game.
I know a few people playing because of the concept of "old school", and to me it just seems like the nostalgic classic is becoming much too similar to the aspects of RS3.
