An analogy: I've enjoyed chess for years/decades.

How would it be if suddenly they altered the
OFFICIAL
rules so that people could
buy extra queens right at the end of a match
? $5 each.

I wouldn't even want to play that game anymore, its integrity would be shattered.
People would win in chess because they had more money in real life than me??!

It is still true people could
still
cheat at chess (like if you went to the bathroom, and your opponent moved all the pieces around), but that cheating would not be in the official rules!

Anyone with even half a brain would vote yes. Who in their right mind would buy bonds with the intention just to sell for gp when they could get much more elsewhere (obviously I am not advising that), but I am just saying bonds will be very useful to help people who have less irl money buy membership for osrs + we get F2P!!! :D

You do realise, that in order to buy a bond with in-game gp, then you will first need to find one of those people who are, as you put it, not in their right minds?

Bonds dont grow on trees y'know.... someone else has to pay cash for them.
And if no-one is stupid enough to do so (as in your opinion), then who will you be getting that free membership from... ?

Shame on you for making a Chess analogy that makes no sense. Being able to buy queens would change the balance of the game where everyone is on equal footing. A more appropriate analogy of what you just said would be if people could buy extra special attack energy, and higher LPs giving you an unfair advantage in a fight. Having more money irl does nothing but speed what up what you want to do, that is it.

Well let me tell you, it doesn't.

They use the extra money they make for other projects, like the Transformers Universe and they are shutting it down, so it is a failed product and wasted money. That's why you see this price increase and the attempt to introduce microtransactions into Old School.

Use your head and think before you vote yes.

We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape.

daily reminder GE and microtransactions will be in game before resizeable.

daily reminder GE passing opened the door to microtransactions.
it was all part of the plan

they made trading post with flaws so no one likes it.
polls ge it passes because no one liked trading post.
as soon as ge passes membership increases and then right after we get blackmailed into voting for bonds if we want f2p.


is the same thing gona happen with gravestones? everyone got used to the 10 minute death timer, so when you poll gravestones everyone will want them.

what happened to the player designed content polls?
