Question
: Should we introduce the Grand Exchange?
Answer:
No way!
I really like the TP, and the GE is very problematic in RS3 as it's easy to manipulate and sets bogus prices on items. I like the laissez-faire approach of being able to buy or sell my items at any price I desire. Additionally, I play OSR because it's just that. There's nothing like old-school trading where people actually trade each other than dump items into a flawed RS3 system.
Why remove a potentially, great piece of content like the TP rather than improve it? Implementing the ability to post buy offers and send trade offers instead of an automated system. Also, no public chat on means no trade. It's as simple as that.
Question
: If question 1 fails, should we update the Trading Post to hide offers from players who've set their private chat to Friends or Off?
Answer:
Yes!
I was always bothered by people having their private chat off when they've posted offers on the TP.
Question
: If question 1 fails, should the Trading Post let you click a player's offer to send them a trade request, allowing you to trade with them without meeting up? They would need to be in a bank on the same world as you.
Answer:
Yeah, it should.

I do favor the ability to send 'trade' requests through the post and being able to post 'buy' offers though. Let's steer away from automatic trading as it's too GE-related.
All in all, OSR is the best update that happened to RuneScape, and the TP has a lot of potential. It wouldn't be feasible to remove it and add a flawed RS3 system into OSR. The main reason players left RS3 is to escape such systems and to get that nostalgic feel of the golden era of the game before all the new changes that drove players away. Vote

'I didnt even understand your first sentence. Anyways, I think you are trying to say that people will make ridiculous amount of money off GE with minimal effort?
-If flipping in GE will make you "ridiculous" amount of money, then guess what will happen? everyone will start flipping. Once everyone start flipping, then what happens? the buying and selling range will become smaller and smaller to the point that its not "ridiculous" anymore.
Also, to prevent people from hoarding items, Jagex will set limit on items u can buy, which will prevent people from buying a ridiculous amount while they are offline. Also, your offers will be easily replaced by higher offers in ge.. U can be offline for 10 hours and only get a few of the items you want to merc*'
You definitely did not understand the point I was trying to get across. I'll put it into simpler terms so you can understand:
Log on Runescape, manage buy/sell offers on items, log out & come back in an hour. Takes 5 minutes of effort, makes X amount of money.
Log on Runescape, go on adventures and train skills like you're meant to that requires you to invest time/money in the game. Takes an hour of effort, make Y amount of money.
Y being less than X.
Should you really be rewarded for taking advantage of a flawed system and make more money than someone who actually plays the game/puts more time into playing the game and playing it how it was meant to be played? Probably not. But it will be.
I just replied to this... They can do the exact same thing without GE.

Honestly haven't heard a single valid reason to why GE will be bad for OSRS.
Merchers: They are the majority of the 28% right now who voted no. They are profiting a lot from bankstanding, which a lot of rs players dont enjoy doing.
If you are tired of buying buying overpriced items and selling your items to lowball offers, vote yes to GE.
If a mercher was smart, he would vote for the Grand Exchange, because making money is a lot easier with it if you merc*. Flipping and merching will take about no effort then.
There will be limit of 6 slots where they can sell items/buy items, meaning they can merc* 3 items at a time.. Without GE there will be no limit. Also, the profit margin will be much higher for merchers if there is no GE.
You sound so stupid, you're talking as if the GE will completely eradicate trading outside of the GE. They would still be able to buy things through regular trade, I fail to see your point.
Please learn to read before you call someone stupid. Please state in which sentence that I implied that GE will completely eradicate trading outside of GE? Only stupid people start out arguments with an insult.

Implying that they cannot merc* the same way they've been doing by oh, I don't know, trading outside of the GE?

That argument is on point, sir. *sarcasm*
Because the thing you lack when you're looking back is the pressure, the feel that you have to act
Yeah everything is clearer when you're looking at the past

100% No. I see all the people who are voting for it haven't newer accounts and never played without it. For all I know they could just be playing the modern game and just messing with the poll. I don't feel like having an even more crippled economy.
