I'm glad the community seems to be more open to the idea of the GE now than a year or two ago.

If this passes, all we need is that resizable client (and maybe the 2008 HD update, please) and permanent F2P, then we'll be looking at a game with room to grow, player-count-wise.

"Old School Runescape" should stay as it is and not add the G/E. If you keep adding content and features of RS3, Old School loses its nostalgic properties and purpose. Why would anyone want a G/E? Price manipulation will happen for sure, if the G/E is implemented. You might as well rename this game to 'Runescape 3, v2".

If you want G/E, go back to RS3.

I'm saying no to the GE. If it comes in, the economy will suffer. Sure you save a bit of time doing whatever your doing. But isn't one of the reasons many people came here is that RS3 devalued achievements by making skilling too easy?

Going back to what I said about the economy, remember Phats were 350-odd mil? Then they just shot up to max cash in the space of about 12 months? Yeah, that happened. And it happened because institutions like the GE allowed it to happen. What is stopping this happening in the future? If you think that that was "Natural inflation" please. Please. The price on a blue Phat went from 400m in 08, to 300M in july 09, rose to 450M over two years, then in 2011 in 12 months it shot to max cash OUT OF NOWHERE

Remember the prices of food and potions? They all fell, making working towards getting them less appealing because the bots could just undercut everyone. Bots have a difficult time selling their stock now, adding the GE basically opens the door for anyone and every bot to just flood the market.

However, just because I don't want the GE doesn't mean that I don't like some aspects of it. I only got "Good" at the game around the time of the GE so I can understand some people calling for it as marchanting with the GE is one of the few ways they know how to make money, like myself. Never the less, just because the GE isn't here, hasn't stopped me enjoying the game FAR more than RS3 where I am(whenever I play it) making money.

Final note, if you want the GE because you find it too hard to trade, I'm sure many of you realise there are an abundance of options for making your trades. You have the trading post, forums and lets take a little stroll to zybez(I'm going to assume you all know about it considering you are playing 07 after all). Chances are, if you can't find it there, what makes you think someone will be selling on the GE?

TL;DR

No GE, I can understand why people want it
Yes Coinshare
Yes Dragon Defender

Another thing:
Those just voting yes to grand exchange for one of the following two reasons:

-"I won't get scammed any more"
-"Merc* clans won't dominate the economy any more"

please note the following:

Firstly: use the secondary trade screen. Many of us have fallen victim to p2p trading scams; myself included. 99 times out of 100 though, the reason for these scams occuring was that the seller rushed into accepting a trade, without really paying much attention to what was actually going on - they just saw a large cash stack, and got overly excited. Just compose yourself. Spend a good 10-15 seconds properly looking over the secondary trade screen (the buyer will not decline based upon a 10 second wait, if they are legitimate - if they aren't you'll soon know, and can report them), and then make an informed decision.
Secondly: adding the grand exchange will only WORSEN the economy, in terms of merching. We've seen it happen in RS3, where flipping essentially messed everything up. As they say; when there's a will, there's a way. Merchers will always exist, in one form or another. The implementation of the grand exchange is no quick fix.

NO
to the Grand Exchange.

No! We want trading to remain a PERSONAL procedure. An automated system removes the element of personal transaction. It is BETTER for the economy, when only players who DESERVE the trade are getting the items; you must speak respectably to the Seller, and the fact that you have to be LOGGED IN in order to get the trades, means players are encouraged to play and login to the game more, and those players logged in to get the items will be processing the items right away, as in coal to bars, raw fish to cooked.

We cannot let trades happen on an impersonal, nameless basis, especially not for players who want to lazily post a price and log out all day. Obtaining items should take actual effort, and the effort keeps item prices up and stable.

The Grand Exchange interface is ugly and devoid of any personal contact. The Trading Post is a BEAUTIFUL system! Please don't take away. We love the price labeling in the trade window, we love seeing the other player's other items for sale.

Given that any update requires a 75% approval, and a full-blown G.E. is a very SPLIT 50/50 issue, we will not see this voted in.

"Okay do you guys want impersonal Runescape 3 now/yet?""

NO we don't. NO, NO, NO. The Trading Post fixed everything.
