I'm sick and tired of all these people bitching about wanting to have the full GE!
If you want a GE, go play RS3 like the 6 year old you are, and let us older players who used to play the old Runescape back in the day, enjoy this game the way it was a long time ago.
Back in February 2013, when I voted to bring an Old School Runescape back to life, I voted because I wanted to be able to play the game I remember back when I was younger. Most of us quit because we hated how the GE and other things ruined the game.
If you want to have a full GE in Old School Runescape, then you obviously weren't a part of that vote back in February 2013. Don't hop onto our game and try to ruin it and make it yours; go play RS3 where you can have your GE and HD crap, and let us enjoy our terrible graphics and grinding at skills.
I don't play this game because it's "easy", I play this game because it isn't easy to level up and gives me a challenge!

Sheesh...next thing you know you scumbags will start wanting an Evolution of Combat :@ ...

I'm getting sick of people like you generalizing everybody that wants a GE. I'm a RSC player and want a GE because quite frankly, there isn't much fun in spending gobs amount of time looking for traders. Realistically we have the technology for a GE or automatic-trading system now so might as well poll it. It does
not
mean I'm a 6-year-old crybaby because I don't want to manually trade. If you want a challenge and no GE then go play Ironman mode because we may very well get it.

Secondly, this isn't Oldschool Runescape anymore in case you didn't notice. Unless you consider GWD oldschool, then you will consider a GE that came out the same year in this 2007scape. The players and community drives the updates such as Player-Designed Content, and pretty soon we have an entirely new continent to play with soon. The nostalgic people are the minority here, however there's private servers out there too. :)

P.S. The majority of people all came to OSRS pretty much for the same reason -- Jagex ruined RS with EoC. It was no accident OSRS was born soon after EoC launched, so you will find that is probably the majority of the community here. If people are still here only for nostalgia I'm afraid they're going to not adapt well to the rest of the community who are here for a pre-EoC.

I was around pre-07 and I want GE. I dont think GE ruined the game at all. It made it better. Vote yes to GE!*

I was here since 6 years before GE, and I agree**** would be a good thing

I vote NO to turning the trading post into it into the Grand Exchange. All of the problems that came with the grand exchange are not worth the small convenience, in my opinion.
Among my many reasons for this, I believe it's much better for us to see who we're trading with; that they're not an obvious bot.
In fact, I'd like to be able to "stat spy" or similarly see the stats of the accounts selling the goods, to insure we're not feeding the gold farmers. Obviously, we can already look them up on the High Scores, but the convenience of an in-game interface would be much easier.

I like the "Send 'Trade' requests through the post" idea much better. Currently the main inconvenience is meeting up for the trade, which I'm happy to do most of the time, but It's a painful drain on my law runes (selfish excuse; I know).
If we could make this work across worlds too, that'd be great, but even without that, it's a valuable improvement.

I don't want automatic trading for some of the same reasons I don't want a full GE. It makes it too easy for gold farmers to sell their botted goods. Furthermore, the trading post should be an aid for trade between players, not a bot that completes transactions for you.

I'm also all for a 'Buy' offers option. This allows buyers to have a more balanced amount of control in item prices, and also helps sellers get a better idea for how they should price their items, especially for the rarer, less traded items.
Obviously, when you put up a buy offer, you should have to put up the money for it, just as you put up other items for a sell offer. The trading post would hold that stack of gold, just as any other item, until you use it to complete a transaction. You can obviously get the gold back at any time by removing the offer, just as any other item.

...Continued

I'm tentative about the idea of viewing and/or using the trading post from anywhere. I don't know why anyone would want to view the trade screen from anywhere other than a bank, where they can use it.
For convenience though, I'm inclined to allow players to complete transactions remotely, as long as one of them is in a bank, and the other does not receive their items until they return to the bank. The player not at the bank also could only trade items they have posted in the TP, and not out of their inventory. Often times I get trade offers when I’m nowhere near a bank, but if the other person is viewing my offer, they must be at a bank, so I could still make the trade with them remotely, and retrieve my items later.

It seems obvious to me that the offers of people I can** message shouldn’t even appear as options for me. Not only players with Private off, but also those with private set to Friends, unless I’m on their friend’s list.

Quick-hop option seems like a great idea, as an option in the friends panel and chat channel as well, as you mentioned. Obviously, the 10 seconds out of combat rule should apply, but unless other problems arise with quick-hopping, I don’t see why not.

As much as I’d like a sort of price tracking feature, I recognize the difficulty of developing one while also giving us the option of dynamic trading. As such, I’m grateful to hear that we’ll be able to more conveniently search existing offers for items from the sell menu. That helps a lot.
