The GE would ruin this game. Although they said they could have some sort of protection to stop the manipulation of prices, lets face it, that's impossible. If they're going to make a price guide and track the trades that go on, then how can they say they will protect prices from being manipulated? All its going to take is for a few people with a couple billion GP to go and buy out a specific item and have everyone sell it for whatever price they agree on and then that item is now in their control.

I don't think we need a full on GE. What would be nice though, is to trade through the trading post and have it the way it is now where people post their own prices. A price guide would make the prices of items go crazy, thus ruining certain parts of this game**** supplies for instance most likely would rise (Ex. Sharks, Prayer pots, etc etc)

In short, NO to the full on GE. Yes to the ability to trade through the trading post.

First and foremost I am against turning the trading post into a GE.

I love the freetrade that the trading post allows.
What I mean by that is I am against price tracking, I like being able to undercut other people.
We should not see an average. Just what people are selling/buying it for at that moment.
That being said, I would like to see an engine change to allow players to post a Buying ad.
I also support automatic trading. I don't see a need to go meet somebody, or hop to their world if you're willing to pay/sell the said item for the specified amount.
However, a join button would still come in handy.
It would be nice to filter people with their private set to 'off' out.
I also support a change to the interface for a Global Trading Post button.
But once again. DO NOT CHANGE IT TO THE GE WITH PRICE TRACKING/AVERAGES.

Once the G.E. is added we won't be able to go back. I don't think old-school is ready for it right now. There are other solutions that could be better at this point in time. Why continue to divide the community? We should be creating new things that the community grows together. The trading post is just underdeveloped. It needs some tweaking but has a lot of potential. And it's unique to old-school. Why do we want to just repeat the process of timescale history?

Please add the GE, with no limits on trading, not even to prevent market monopoly. What's wrong with a few players being rich? People randomly get insanely rich from staking all the time too. I want to be able to merc* freely like on the first day of GE's release in RS3, buying ranger boots for 14M and selling them for 15M instantly, rinse and repeat.
Regarding "people being able to control prices", that's stupid and you know it. You are not forced to buy from them - you can simply farm them yourself if you don't like it.
I don't get why you all feel the need to control everything. Just let it go. Anarchy reigns supreme.

The GE will not ruin the Old School version. In fact I believe the GE could only help. Saving time for those that don't have time to spare selling items. I quit playing once the wilderness was removed and trading limits were introduced. That was when people dropped in numbers and quit the game. There were riots in fally for days, no one got the decision to change it back. That is one event that changed the game.

Old School is basically based off of the generation of retro graphics and the previous combat style. Having a way to trade without having to stand in the same place would be great. Just think, you could put an item in and go PK, Skill, or kill some Bosses. I'd be happy with any method of automatic trading. Even if we had to be online the whole time.

In regards to getting the ability to loot share, perhaps, but I personally like learning who I can trust to boss with over time. It turns my friends list into one with quality people. Who wants a friends list with people who dont scam you simply because it's impossible (with ls)
As for scamming in general. Learn to check everything before accepting. You only get scammed if you're blind and in a rush. No ones fault but your own.
