You have this backwards. A automatic trading system like the Ge allows merchents to control the prices, especially with our small community* *** might have worked before, but with our small community it would be incredibly easy for manip clans to buy things out due to our small item supplies. It's just a bad idea and based on this thread, it seems that people are going have to learn the hard way.

More then that though, is that it also removes the time factor from trading which just makes merching even more effective as people could now merc* while doing whatever else they wanted to as the same time which drastically increases gp/hr rates. Without a automatic trading system, this is not as practical.

So you saying that it's merchents that are against the ge is laughably incorrect. If anything, they are the ones that want it.

No to ge. Being able to trade through the post would be good enough. The time factor of trading is still there, still is no offline trading, but it does make it more convenient. Overall, it would be a far more balanced solution.

When I came back to rs 2007 (this year first membership)

I walked to Varrok (new account)

Was expecting a GE...

No GE... (happy tbh)

I was like... wow this community works by itself and is doing just fine.

For me when GE came in, it left a stale taste in my mouth.
Because all anyone did was sit around the GE waiting for it it spit out items.
Rather than going out and getting them for themselves.
Or just simply asking another real player.

Also they can add loot share without GE that's something else.

This GE suggestion has truly scared me

And I don't think we are thinking it though. Properly.

Maybe we need something else or not...

But for me I'am fine right now how it is

Don't cut corners Jagex, seriously think about it and what the impact will be.
The trade cap gave riots, the Wildy change gave riots, the GE changed everything.

Runescape oldschool 2007 is the way it is for a reason.

Just before the GE or when the GE came out everything changed.

I, for one, would prefer a full GE; however, no offline GE seems like a fair compromise.

I'll also take the time to argue the main points brought up by it's opponents.

1.Nostalgia (i.e. back in 06-07 i had no ge, I want that Back!) Back then, nearly 100k people were on at any given time, world 1 and 2 were full, and people had no alternatives, the community has changed. I remember that the majority of the community met the GE with praise, considering it the best update of the year, heck, Skychi6 gave it a 9000/5 on his old review vid.

I'm changing my mind every day....Still not sure whether or not I want the GE...
I'll probably vote yes for automatic trading but not offline trading, that sounds decent. playing rs since 1976, 40 year vet cape soon
