If it creates a sense of immersion to you, all the more power to you. You are free to do as you please - just why do you want to impose this view on others who don't get the same sense of immersion? If the GE is added, that doesn't mean you're forced to buy your items through the GE - just buy it however you currently do, preserving your sense of immersion and allowing all of those who want a GE to have a GE.

What I am trying to understand here is why those who oppose the Grand Exchange want to impose themselves on those that support the Grand Exchange

Those that support the Grand Exchange can use it, and those that don't support it can continue to trade in Varrok. It's not like the Grand Exchange somehow stops people from trading in Varrok.

Are those that oppose the GE scared that the GE will leave them with nobody to trade with? If that's the case, then shouldn't they concede that more players prefer the GE than face to face trading?

Not having a GE inconveniences those that want a GE, whereas having a GE does not inconvenience those that oppose the GE. World 1 can still be the official trading world for those who want to continue trading face to face, and it can operate in tandem with the GE

Hey man, 100 percent in support of a ge.
If we get a ge trading in varrok will be no longer, that's just how things will work. Most likely world 1 varrok trading will be for items of high value and barter trade not supplies and normal things. This is why those who oppose ge are so adamant about it not happening. Cheers

I started playing Runescape back in 2004? I played for several years, and then after that would come back. One of the things I detested was how easy it was to do that Imp Catcher quest. You could just go up to the GE and buy all four of them for less than 100 gold and then bam, quest complete. So I am going to have to disagree with you. The GE is TOO convenient.

But one thing that really always ****** me off though, is the whole, "we need to protect people from "scammers" mentality. I think those people are idiots, I think the people who get scammed and then complained about it are even bigger idiots. This should not even be a point in any debate. In fact being scammed is actually a pretty darn valuable thing to happen, because you learn something in the process. Not that you are going to feel that way anytime soon after you have been scammed, but any way, my message to you and to all those like you. Get off your darn high horse.
