Adding to my last post, the GE makes the world feel smaller. It takes away from the immersion. Instead of really getting out there and experiencing all corners of the world and learning of item origins and global spawn locations you simply visit an exchange clerk who might as well be a giant general store containing all the items you'd ever need, instead of learning the world and experiencing it you simply go "well, I'll take one of those, one of these, and some of that". Wheres the fun in that? Sounds like some stupid private server nonsense to me, no one likes buying everything from a shop, it ruins the sense of achievement of going out and getting something yourself.

I don't want to do EVERYTHING myself though, it just forces me to decide whether I want to take the time trying to buy the item or go out there and find it myself. Maybe they can make a game mode where every item is available in a single shop and call it "lazyman mode" *sarcasm*.

Personally, I thought Zybes was fine. Now this ruined it.
RIP getting 200m herb with this system.

Then, when everyone wants GE herbs going to cost hundreds of millions again, and so will all the other buyables that currently are even/profit.

So, please. Full GE with additional add-ons that make it great, or no solution at all.

Been playing since 2004 and GE has never been an option in my mind, the GE (along with the removal of free trade), wilderness changes, and EOC are the 3 major things that turned me off of RS. Oldschool is the last living sanctuary I have left to play the RS I originally fell in love with, I don't even exclusively play for the graphics, just for the three things mentioned.

I'm sorry to say but the argument that the 'lack of player interaction' is a fundamental flaw in an addition of adding a g/e is simply not valid. The player interaction involved in our current trading system is no better that that of bots, there is no chit-chat, just the irritable players whom are either rude or incapable of speech to such a degree that 'ty' is the limit of themselves.

I have played Runescape for 10 years and although I realise people want the nostalgia of 2007, this game is NOT Runescape in 2007. The fan base is lesser with much more experienced players than that 'new' players in-game. So the trade system suffers from a lack of stock. In my opinion, in order to rectify this, an automated trade system should be implemented.

Except that the current system allows you to barter prices where a GE is a set price you more or less have to deal with, since you can't find out the names of the players who have offers up. Therefore less interaction, and more rigid, less free form trading.

Yes okay, I accept the fact that implementing a g/e stops the player with the opportunity of bartering. You should however take note that a vast majority of players with offers for items which are 'in need' are merchants, and do not care for offers of lesser value.

EDIT: I have tried bartering, it has proved very unsuccessful for me.
