I logged in just to say this.

I do not want the grand exchange.
"...can offer the grand exchange like RS3." -There is a reason I came to OSRS in the first place.

The Trading Post I wouldn't mind, for the ability to post items yet still going to be able to go about OSRS business, but I would say you should meet up with the person and not through some trade process via the Trading Post.

Thanks

"Our experience was polled, if I remember right in 2007. May have been 2008. Turns out 90% of players had been around for 1 year minimum. Noobs were always the minority before easy*cape really took hold. However, that has nothing to do with available materials stock. Neither does the existence of a GE. You simply can't (it's impossible to) create new masses of materials available for sale, unless you're asking for them to allow bots to post on the GE."

Did you know that 90% of statistics are made up? That is absolutely preposterous to say in 2007 90% of the players had 1 year of experience playing the game, please link me to this statistic because I do not believe that for one second.

Of course the lack of active players on OSR affects stock! Just take a look at clue rewards, they are worthless! Why? Lack of players and free-to-play players. There are not enough users on this game for the market to flow as efficiently as it did years ago.

That's fair for you to say. However, I found a poll in the archives that will back me up... sort of. It was actually 2006, and it does prove my point that noobs were vastly in the minority back then (even if it doesn't have my exact made-up statistic). At the time of the poll only 10% reported playing for less than 6 months. I remember my reaction to this poll and it stuck in my head that 90% of us had been around a while.

How long have you been playing runescape?

Under a month 2%
Under 6 months 8%
Under a year 17%
Under 2 years 34%
Under 4 years 26%
Over 4 years 17%

The overall number of players does affect stock. I was attempting to shut down your argument that more experienced players are less likely to have materials to sell. Noobs are generally not the source of massive stock, unless they happen to be bots. And the GE is not capable of generating materials that players aren't offering.

Gad, you have to realise that only a specific percentage of players vote in polls even now, nevermind compared to back in 2006. I believe it was unlikely of new players (noobs) to be voting in polls and so a poll result of such standard isn't really representative.

To your other point, yeah it wasn't my intention to argue that noobs bring stock, merely that numbers do. Noobs, do, however, drive the prices of stock upwards.

Wow. You'd think Jagex might learn from their mistakes. If you can ever trade through post I'm quitting on the spot and if history repeats itself (always does) it won't be long before everyone else is gone too. And before anyone responds with some childish "Well fine then leave" remark you should know I don't pay attention to such ignorant dribble.

I would prefer if it was just grand exchange to be honest.
Also, I know that we ironman can't trade, but could we have access to the sets thing at least?
I mean... it doesn't involve trade and ironman in rs3 have access to those on grand exchange I believe.
Not to mention that as an ultimate ironman, being able to "squeeze" a barrows set into one inventory space would make going solo gwd very doable in the future which is something I really wanna do as an ultimate at some point.

I'm sure other ultimates would vote for this if it were polled.
