I think the Trading Post is an excellent addition and it suits its purpose well. Besides, its a great compromise between the people who want the GE and people who just want the normal/oldschool trade system.

Personally, I don't see where the arguments of "Why is this added when it doesn't make it more convenient for us to use it, implement the GE instead and make it convenient for us to buy our items instantly" are coming from. Before any of the posters bash me for saying this by rebutting "We don't play runescape to trade, we play runescape to ________", I have to say that its a selfish opinion, because MMORPGs were meant to be a all-round game, which takes in every factor of how it works into play.

Whether you like that specific area is up to you. Personally, I hate questing, and if it wasn't for the barrow gloves or the odd Trollheim teleport, I would have avoided all the quests and just focused on other parts of the game which I love. By saying this, I'm already ******* off those players who absolutely love questing and are now judging me as a 'non old-school player'.

Some of us absolutely hate "wasting our time" on the trading aspect of the game, because its inefficient, its a chore or whatever reason you might come up with. I love it though. I find that its a far more integral part to the game than questing or money-making or ______. I love squabbling over 50k with the other trader even though I'm buying a bcp or something else where 50k wouldn't even seem much. I can't do that with the GE, because everyone sets the price to the market price and frankly, its not fun for me when I can't haggle like an old woman.

Here is where the fun starts though, I love trading and hate questing, you love questing and hate trading. But in the end, all of us is still playing the game because its a great game as a whole. Take it as a compromise just like how we are "forced" to do quests to get the essential upgrades and play the game.

A Stingy Trader who loves the TPost

[Such an ignorant post/opinion.

Why should quests, production skills, and combat be needlessly inconvenient? A lack of automatic trading is a needless inconvenience, and the only reason we don't have it is because some players cling to an archaic notion that inconvenient game mechanics should be ubiquitous in OSRS.

It is worth noting that the GE was introduced in 2007.

You also can't have done much trading with that 1308 total, I don't think you are experienced enough to offer credible counter arguments to a ge-like system.

Without the GE, skills can actually make you money. Currently, just about everything -- even cooking -- is profitable. With the GE, all of this will disappear; I remember all too well how things were when GE got introduced.

To me, making money with high level skills is very satisfying. Once single armor items can be purchased on the GE at or below alch values, potions cost money to make, etc. etc., the game will become much more bland to me.

Since you're a maxed player, you have a different mindset and play for efficiency; for you, obviously**** would be a godsend, as flipping items on GE is the most efficient way to make money. Not sure if you are for or against NMZ/splashing/..., but GE is just that applied to moneymaking: it takes just a few minutes to make millions of gp, and you can be logged out while this is happening. Oh, and unlike NMZ or splashing, this won't hurt your EHP rating. :)

I for one am highly against the trading post... this update has been the worst and most troll update I've ever witnessed. How to list your ags for 50m and turn your private off to **** off thousands of people, I say remove this, or make it automated because this is ridiculous, I spent 30 minutes trying to find someone to sell me a berserker helm because every single person had their private off. :@ :@ :@ :@

man, skills weren't profitable before the ge, there were way to many botters, which was the reason skills like fletching and cooking weren't very popular, the ge has nothing to do with that.

why not make it more like trading posts in other MMO's (like Aion, Cabal, SWTOR, ESO), but with an rs twist? instead of just seeing sell offers like in other MMO's, players can post and see buy offers as well, and be able to trade directly through the trading post as well? Now thats much more original, since other MMO's dont let you post buy offers.

oh, and i almost forgot... from the update announcement:

"Back in poll 20, we offered this bare-bones trading post with several optional features. In particular, we offered to let you trade directly through the trading post without having to meet up, and we offered to let your offers remain on the post while you're offline. Neither of these options passed, so we've delivered the trading post without them."

I dont think you guys looked at poll 20 very carefully, since the ONLY part that didnt pass in that poll was to have players offers stay visible for more that 6 hours when they were offline. THE OTHERS PASSED!

I don't want the ge for flipping and ****
I want it because i don't want to spend time meeting up and trading with others.
I want to play the game instead of waiting and i need items quick for example when doing quests.I bet only trolls voted for 'I want to meet up with the player rather then buying from the post itself'.

H Y D R O fh you are 100% right. If you are too lazy to trade the normal way then runescape isn't for you, and go play rs3. Stop trying to make the game easier your seriously taking it down the same path that ruined rs3.

07 players only play because of abilitys
not because they want some broken trading system, that was the only actual thing most 07 players liked about rs3.you don't know anyting.doesn't mean it was part of 07 it was better back then now.saying go play rs3 is such a low argument.
