The grand exchange allows players to manipulate the economy and will land OSRS in the exact same situation EOC is in now. Although I would like to see the 'spam / auto-typing,' controlled, I do not support the introduction of the Grand Exchange.

Price Manipulation exists NOW in this version without the use of the GE.

Will never be able to controll the autotyping macroing, even if they banned all those currently autotyping they would just slow the autotyping spam down to human levels but will always be able to make money with a macroing autotyper while playing other games/characters, watching movies, reading books, ect. and keeping an eye out for trade requests.

With this version and no ge the autotypers will ALWAYS exist and they will ALWAYS be able to make millions of gp per day botting text.

The potential updates @ the bottom of that post sound pretty coo

I'm even more in favor of those kinds of updates if they actually make all the 'NO UPDATES EVER@@@' people quit.

Because really. There were updates added to the game in 2007, so this whole project is historically inaccurate if the game remains stagnant indefinitely. Silly noobs

please postpone content polls and updates, apply the entire rs07 team however many of your guys and girls there are into getting the antibotting stuff into the game.

Blue dragons under the ogre city are already being botted. Being unable to range down there is what drove me to quit in the first place. Dont tempt me to leave again!

Only one team has the skills and resources to do this and that is the Engine team. But rest assured, it's being worked on as one of the highest priorities for Old School.

Mod Ash, before you consider doing bank tabs and what not could you not make it so that when you withdrawl an item it's space it automatically taken?

As in, it leaves an empty space until you close your bank.

Ah yes, it's pretty annoying in other RuneScape where items automatically shift up to fill empty spaces immediately. I don't know for sure whether we can implement bank tabs without that happening, but we'll certainly try for it.

Thinking about bank tabs, I now remember that there are some game engine commands that were created specifically for the purpose of implementing them before. We don't have those commands either. Still, I expect we could get them; if we can get an interface editor, that other stuff should be achievable too.

PLEASE let us right-click kick people from clan chat from the chat box! That's the thing I want most at the moment

I believe we could do that with the systems we already have. The limitation is that you'd see the "Kick" option on all chat-channel messages, even if you don't have the rank to kick that person. Hopefully that wouldn't be too annoying.

I'll try it out, and if it works I'll add it to the list of features to offer.

Slayer gem, dialogue boxes and smithing update fits perfect to my nervous system. To be honest I've been wondering why energy stop existing so fast while smithing.

To get my word up about thoughts of OSRS as it is my very first post on forums.

I'm glad that OSRS is back althogh I'm against any possible future content as in my opinion Old School was couple years back from 07. And I've lived once that path of suffer when everything changed to be so fast and easy. I don't wanna live that way again. Everything is just fine now. I don't want to get any bugs fixed - only the necessary ones. Those features that are supposed to make a bit more sense in game and makes it a bit more comfortable to play I accept.

That wouldn't be annoying at all, is there a limit to the functions you can add a right click option for? Or can this be used to get around problems like not being able to add certain buttons?

If you can't do this, 'remove all but 1' would be a good substitute.

Long story... We have 2 kinds of interface at the moment.

The basic kind, which existed since the 2004 RS2 launch, doesn't support much dynamic editing. We can generally set the text and colour of things, but we can't add extra right-click options.

The newer kind, created from 2006 onwards, supports dynamic editing. It is generally possible to add extra right-click options to buttons on these kinds of interface. All the basic interfaces got replaced with these newer interfaces during 2008 and 2009. (In fact most of that work was necessary to do resizeable interfaces for resizeable mode.)

If we add an extra option to a button on one of these interfaces, and its action is clientside only (or chat-related), it'll work fine. If its action needs to control something in-game, it may not work reliably, so we prefer not to do that at all.

The 'Kick' option for chat-channel messages would be chat-related, so it should work fine. I'd prefer to check this out before promising it in a poll, though.

The right-click option on the Report Abuse button, allowing you to toggle the 'report' op on other players, was created in the same way. However, that one needs to control something in-game, and it does not work reliably. Fortunately it doesn't seem to have bothered too many people.

Given an interface editor tool, we could edit interfaces properly, adding right-click options that work reliably!

Sometimes I think I work in a right funny technical environment.

I would seriously tattoo your name onto my wrist if you make this change - I moderate a popular chat and it gets so hard during spam attacks and what not because I can't find names as quickly as I need to.

Is it possible we could see a change so that 07 kicks also give the [Attempting to kick/ban...] message on the action?
