The Idea for gravestones, is to ensure the safety of our items while dealing with ddosers lately. However, everyone seems to be against them mainly because they're "not a 07 update." Yes, gravestones were released in 07. However, i feel like we should either pay money (around 250k-500k) to bless a friends grave.

and to obtain a grave it should cost (1 mill.) it may be a steep price, but all and all, i think it's worth it. We could just go back to the normal way of sacrificing prayer points to bless. But if the community doesn't want that, we should use cash.

Although this would mean a possible money pouch would have to be put in game, OR have "Grave insurance" which pays for your friends gave when giving the option to bless or not. This couldn't be used for your own grave.

Unblessed graves should last about 10 minutes:
while blessed graves can last up to 50 minutes:

it seems like a high placement for graves, BUT i think its generally worth it. This would possibly stop any Servers from being hit off (because there is no point too)

Ok so my thoughts on this, as soon as I read it I knew all the GWD prices for items were going to crash, and what do you know? They did.

How could you, JAGEX, not realise this when making the update that basically INFINITE gwd kc would not do somthing like this. I think the 10 minute timer for grave items should still stay in the game but take the infinite KC out of GWD. Not good at all for the economy

Think before you update!

If gravestones are introduced, I don't think they should be able to be blessed by other players, because I don't think other players should influence whether we keep our items or not.

Instead, I think players should be able to earn gravestones or pay a certain amount of GP to influence how long our gravestones should last, and maybe pay a percentage of the items values before entering a dangerous area as insurance to an NPC who will hold our items until we can re-connect, so we don't have a situation where someone disconnects repeatedly and loses items, but where the player does have to pay a percentage loss to get the items back.
Hi.

Gravestones used to be cool and should be brought back with 2minute blessings only. Maybe you could only bless the gravestones of those who are in your clan chat? friends list? a list you assign players in-game to whom can bless your grave? Thanks for fixing the bugs!

I am vehemently opposed to introducing gravestones into the game, the solution to the ddos problem should be infrastructure-based, and invisible to the players.

If I could name one thing that really began this game's death spiral, (ironically) it would be the gravestone update. Since there are almost no areas in the game which couldn't be reached in 10 minutes, it made it harder to actually lose items than keep them in death.

As result, weapons/armor prices slowly spiraled down for years since all pvm risk was removed, and the number of items exiting the game went to zero.

Many players got used to an over-sanitized game with no risks, warnings on everything, and a death mechanic which made avoiding item loss so easy a caveman could do it. Right after GWD in 2007 really was this game's peak, and there is no need to drive this version into the ground too.

Gravestones always were (and continue to be) a cop-out for incompetent noobs. After the technical problems are solved, allowing gravestones to enter the game would be terrible. It's only a few more steps to lodestones and sof....
