How does the WoW auction house work?

It's a system where you can post anything you want for any price you want.
So many times in WoW I'd walk into the auction house and buy my materials at a ridiculously cheap price from people that just want to get rid of them. Then at other times I'd need something really bad and there would only be a few people having an offer up of that item at a really unreasonably high offer, but sometimes i'd have to bite the bullet.

You can see everyones post idividually, and use filters like the quantity, price, seller, time left on the offer etc.

You wouldn't be fighting over a manipulated price, you could simply post your offer lower then the higher asking prices.

Anyone who has played WoW seriously would agree with me when I say you could get lost in the auction house for HOURS looking for better prices, trying to buy low and flip it for a higher price.

Now, the issue with this system might be the insane amount of volume of items that are in Runescape. So this is where i'm saying that the mechanics DO NOT have to be the exact same as WoW's auction house, but maybe you should seriously consider a smart way to implement a trading post kind of like it.

Auction houses could be located all over Runescape (Near Banks) Giving the players the easy access that **bez also offers.

This auction house is kind of like zybez or GE but implemented in-game, also most items would still hold an average price. This idea, however would involve an instant buy/sell re-poll. (Failed by 3%)

If everyone just admits we're asking for a grand exchange, this process will be so much easier.


I agree on creating a dev blog about deciding what type of GE/Trading Post everyone is interested in.

I think that for the trading post, there should be a "special" player list of friends, which is organized by if the player wants to PM them for trading. Possibly custom friends list where you can group players by a custom name, e.g. good friends, clan mates, trading pm temporaries, merchants, etc.

Also, the ability to view what a player has to trade, in case the player wants to kill some time and buy other stuff from them, or they cannot remember what they wanted to buy/sell.

Wow repoll trading system. Its completely pointless, and a waste of dev time.
No one knew what they were voting for with the multiple, confusing questions. You had like 10 questions on the mechanics of it.

Just poll "do you want to see the grand exchange introduced as it was"?

Having read through the post up to this one I still would like to remind those naysayer’s the
"G E"
was introduced in Old School in
2007

. As I said before you (Jagex) have the original model and with your vast knowledge and experience… just poll the
"G E"
as it was introduced
OR
with what changes.

Many more people have voice many concerns over the off-site trading place and since this is Jagex’s game… (example: Jagex made the game) do what you do best =)

LOL so stupid...... this oldschool is gonna end up just like rs3 ..... its going to sh*t trading post.... then what graphics? to make it look stupid... if and when trading post comes in to effect ill be done with this game.. its just starting to look more n more like the old rs did so that will do it for me and a loss of 2 memberships for gold ol JAG
