Removing 10 worlds from the game may indeed increase activity in the wildy - but, only by a very very few. However, it will have a negative impact on those players (and yes, there are a LOT of them) who don't want to base their game in the wildy but prefer slayer etc.
Everyone is assuming all these changes will make people rush to the wildy - if you don't like going to the wildy now for stuff, you aren't going to go after these changes either.
Unless there's a massive advantage to skilling in the wild (which would open a whole new can of worms) why would anyone bother as its quicker to bank in non-wildy with no losses. Greed doesn't motivate every player.
On a more general note, yes, it would be great to have your heart beat a little faster when you see a lot of white dots around mage bank again, to have mage bank full of people again, and with tons of people pking/fighting just above Varrock etc. This update won't do it. Most people who play OSRS are those who have played RS before, and most won't change the way they play.
F2P would be a way to attract new players which would also increase activity in wildy. If someone wants to try the game, experiment making a "pure" etc. F2P would be the answer. Currently OSRS is at a disadvantage as even though it is part of a game that is advertised as "free to play", you can't try it/play it unless you are a member.
Sure, the pvp aspect is part of the game - but, its not the main objective of the game for most players.
One last thing, please, either give us more bank space, or remove Uri's Emote clues !
