Agreed with the other poster up there, all these new items/resources are fine but the bank is still way too far away and could make all of this pointless. There needs to be some method of noting dragon bones, hides, ore, fish, logs, etc in the wild or skillers just won't bother because there are places quicker to a bank. Kind of disappointing there is nothing about this in the blog.

The only thing that's notable is the ents and chest but what about the other things? Noone is going to bother with those if you have to take a 5 minute bank break constantly

There are teleports right by most of the resources. You can get to almost any resource in about 10 seconds.
No you can't

The fastest way is running to a portal then hoping you get lucky, but even that still requires alot of running to the bank & then you have to repeat that to get back to your spot. It's just going to be too long and not worth it at all.

Go try it now with the lobster fishing spot in the wild and let me know how many lobsters you fish in an hour, then do the same at catherby and tell me. I bet the difference will be at least 5x.

You can travel out a radius of about 5 wildy lvls in 10 seconds from a point.

I never said it would be quicker than catherby, but yes, you can reach most areas within 10 seconds of running, dareeyak tele teles you to lvl 30 wild north of west dragons. This is a western mid wildy tele where you can reach bandit camp, fortress, green drags, forgotten cemetary all within 10 seconds or less.

Carralanger tele teles you gaveyard of shadows which is middle of wild at level 19 wild. You can reach chaos altar, ruins in 10 seconds.

Annakarl tele puts you at demonic ruins lvl 47 wild. Where you can reach the fishing spot, red dragons, soon to be smithing place, rogues castle all in 10 sec.

Seems like every comment I've read on here concerning the new mage staff is a negative one, including my own.

I suggest this mage staff be taken out of the poll for the time being. This has the potential to be a game changer for mages, just like the whip and Godswrods were for melee and c-bows and d-bows were for rangers.

As such this should be treated with just as much respect as a large update would receive not just thrown in at the bottom of a poll.

This staff needs to be discussed further by the community.

The Dark bow only required 60 ranged to use and was a drop from a lvl 90 slayer monster. So why not even the playing field with a Dragon staff! This could be dropped from the Kraken monster.

-
Dragon staff
: This staff allows an infinite amount of air and fire runes to be used.
-
Special attack
: Allows you to double hit with the spell you are using and increases the max hit of the spell you are using by 50 % and uses 60 % special attack bar.
-Examples: the fire blast hits a max of 16, the special attack would allow you to hit 24 twice!

The special attack only works with the elemental spells.

The lowest level pure could be 32 just like the lvl 32 d bowers with 10 hp! But lets face it, this dragon staff could be more powerful down the road just like the dark bow!
And here's how: with the formula i made for the damage that the special attack could do, depends on the 4 basic spells you can use, earth, water, fire, and air.

So later on when you get 75 magic for fire wave, your max hit is 20 and with the special attack, your new special attack max hit would be a possible 30-30.

Even farther down the road, if Jagex decides to add surge spells back into the game. The fire surge can hit 30s with no special magical staff damage boosts or potions or prayers. The dragon staff would allow the special attack to be a whopping possible 45-45!

@Im nate: Yeah.. you're relying on abit much to keep it on par with those methods outside the wild (even then with all of those, it still wouldn't be..)

Why would skillers fish the new fish etc if they have to bank constantly when they can get not only better XP but better GP at catherby or fishing guild? Without some way of noting it (or making them fish noted) it's pretty much guaranteed to be dead content lol

I really like this idea, not only dose it allow mages to have a weapon with just as much impact as godswords and d bows...it gives the normal spellbook some power compared to ancients. Love it
