I don't know why they don't make free to play open to new players permanently. Makes no sense to me.

(In PVP) Even with this Barrows armor upgrades I don't know how many people will actually want to wield the 2 handed ahrim's staff instead of ancient staff, or use karil's coif instead of archer helm. Dharok's will be broken as all hell though. Guthan's has no place in pvp, Torag's will be overpowered as well but the hammers are fairly weak to begin with, so people might not use them. (Again, the hammers are two handed, giving up a shield slot is a huge issue here)

You realize barrows armor is better than bandos in defence right? My comaplint is that karils isn't better than armadyl in defence, but then again you shouldn't melee in armadyl so there's that.


Here's a balancing idea:
Have a seperate amulet for each set. This adds more 'loot' to shades and lets you handle the distribution of the amulets better. Make Dharok/Ahrim amulets the rarest (1/2k), Karils/Torags the second rarest (1/1k), and Guthan/Verac the least rarest (1/512). Not those actual values but distribute them in that sense. The set effect wil be allowed to be *P in the sense that the amulets aren't getting into the game fast enough to meet the high demand. The OP sets' amulets will be worth more than the others, creating even greater risk for those PVP-ing with them.

Don't make them crumble to dust. This means you can't loot them from players that lost them. There's literally no way to do this fairly if they crumble to dust. If the looter receives the seim-broken amulet, then i can sell my semi-broken amulet through death-trading with easy scams. If it becomes dust on death, then they get a bonus without me gaining an increased loot-possibility for killing them. Do broken amulets. Or even better: Have a semi-common reward from shades called "Amulet fragments" that are stackable. It takes 10k to fully repair an amulet. You can, at any time, disassemble an amulet into amulet fragments BUT WILL LOSE THE SPECIAL AMULET DOING SO. Losing an amulet on death gives the looter x amount of amulet fragments depending on the amulet's condition.

Maybe blank amulets + "Brother Icon" + amulet fragments = brother-specific amulet. Icons don't degrade but amulets do. Icons are VERY rare, amulets significantly rare, fragments somewhat uncommon. Running out of space.

Expanding on my previous idea.

1.) Don't have fragments, just icon and a black "Amulet of the Damned".
Adding icon transforms it into "Amulet of the [barrows adjective]"
(Dharok's would be "Amulet of the Wretched&quot ;) Untradeable.
Amulets are turned to dust when they degrade or are lost on death.
Icons have a very low alch-price and are subsequently lost on death and are tradeable. When an amulet degrades, you are left with just the icon. I understand you want these items to sink. Perhaps give the icons a degradable thing as well. Starting with 4 charges, one charge is lost every time it is added an amulet. If you kill someone with an amulet that they added a 4-charge icon to, you will get a 3-charge icon. Icons can be decanted. All charges of every icon are tradeable. Issues occur if someone uses the last charge on their amulet and then dies.

2.) Separate amulets for each brother from the get-go (ie you can loot an "Amulet of the Tainted" or an "Amulet of the Infested&quot ;) . There are also amulet fragments. An amulet is useless without fragments. Amulets are obtained and tradeable while without any fragments. Adding 10k fragments makes the amulet usable and untradeable. You can remove the fragments at any time but will only get half of what is attached to the amulet (ie an amulet with 8k fragments that you disassemble or lose on death will only produce the default amulet plus 4k fragments).

3.) Make a new special key that can only be obtained from barrows (tradeable/untradeable whichever). Somewhat rare. You use these keys to gain access to the room in the shades dungeon in which you can use your keys obtained from shades on chests in this special room. These chests are the only chests in the shades dungeon to give a chance for the amulet(s). They are consumed on use so make sure you bring a full inv of shade keys for your "chance" of getting the amulet (and/or amulet parts).

Whatever the case, these amulets need to be lootable if risked.

What makes you think this game is super easy? Also, do you realize how vulnerable someone is with full ahrims + that ammy? ahrim's staff is 2 handed, robes + no shield = barely any def, and even if they're praying, a d bow switch or a dds would wreck them. So the risk is enough to let them have a 1/4 chance at an extra hit. If any nerfing were to happen to that idea, the best possible one would be making it like karils and making the second hit do only half damage, throwing the entire idea out just because you think one part of it is "OP" is just idiotic.

The whole point of the amulet coming from shades is to increase activity in the shades minigame. If the key you have to acquire to gain access to the chest is found in barrows, that defeats the whole purpose and adds another level of complication onto this because you must now not only get keys from shades, but you also have to get keys from barrows.

I see that the dev blog gets some changes.. yay, right? Well it looks like it hasn't really changed much. There's no way I'm voting for amulet of the damned as long you are including a BUFF to dharoks and veracs with it. Either have the armour sets a separate question in the poll, or remove dharoks/veracs from the question.
In no way do the most popular PvP/PvM armours need a buff.

Who in the world thinks barrows sets needs improved??? Dharoks is one of the best armour sets in-game. I only see people complaining that it hits 90s, you joking? "Many members of the community", what?? the 10 active people on the forums maybe.. I certainly havent seen anyone complaining about it being weak in-game. Maybe you need to login and see what people are saying.

Verac's/dharoks/armour stats shouldn't even be MENTIONED as needing improvements. Are you kidding me? (sigh..)

Veracs is one of the biggest go-to options for most bosses. Karils is #1 go-to for magic def for the average player. Ahrims is best for magic after 3rd age. Don't get me started. Dharoks.. dharoks?!?!

The only thing that people talk about when they complain about barrows is the set effects not being good (for torag/karil/ahrim ) - they dont complain about veracs/dharoks, so why are they even in this blog? .. All of the barrows armour sets have great stats and don't need a buff . Just because some aspect of the game is underused you think you have to buff it until people want to use it. PEOPLE ARE SIMPLY NOT GOING TO USE IT UNTIL THEY GAIN AN ADVANTAGE BY USING IT. YOU DONT HAVE TO KEEP MAKING THINGS OVERPOWERED JUST BECAUSE NO ONE USES IT. li1jhklaklgakljg

This is just silly.. Do you honestly think that if you put out a poll asking, 'Do you feel that barrows armour need to be buffed?' that people would say yes? LOL?
