I will only vote yes for Corporeal beast if the spirit shields will be tuned down to a reasonable level, still being best in slot, but only by a margin. Their drop rate should also be increased if they are nerfed slightly.
Other drops could include some kind of mage gloves (better than infinity gloves) and maybe something in the amulet slot, but Fury should still remain as a "very good" amulet, meaning the new amulet could be very slightly better or a variable to amulet of fury.
Boss mechanics I would love to see would be the black revenant that Corp beast used to summon (to devour summoning familiars), instead it would appear from the side lurking and would deal a quick strike after a brief warning. Something to keep an eye on while fighting and making the fight interactive and challenging. Corp beasts attacks could be very slightly nerfed to make up for the revenant attacks.

If however, Corporeal beast would be polled with the 2008 spirit shields without a balance, I will have to vote no.

I'm asking this as someone who has had quest cape about one year now and I'm 116 combat lvl, so there's no self-interest.

I personally don't understand why lower combat levels shouldn't be able to go in with a group of similar levels to try their best to best the beast....

If there's a combat lvl requirement, I think it should be lower rather than higher. And I feel the same about QP requirement.


+1, ppl compared it with fire cape earlier in this thread and there's no req on trying to get fire cape. If they can get it, that's good for them.

We have enough shields, and the shields it dropped back in the day were overpowered. I think the drops should be completely new to fill in the gaps, for example crush weapons. They should also be balanced so that they won't make anything far easier to do or be overpowered in PvP.

Since it is a very hard boss compared to the others i feel like there should be quite a variety of different drops, i.e loot for range, mage and melee.

Please read some of my ideas below.


Drop Ideas

1h Mace

+82 Crush
+82 Strength
(Same stats and speed as a whip but a as a crush weapon)
Special Attack:
Your hit ignore all of the opponents defenses but deals 30% less damage. (70% special cost)



2h Crossbow

+132 range
(Same speed as a normal crossbow, does same damage but with higher ranged attack bonus and a special attack)
Special Attack:
Your shot penetrates 50% of your opponents defences. (55% Special cost)



Divine Amulet

+20 on all Defenses
+7 Pray



Elysian Amulet

+15 Range
+5 Pray
(no other stats)



Spectral Hat

Attack Bonus:
-5 Stab
-5 Slash
-5 Crush
+10 Magic
-5 Range


Defense Bonus:
+20 Stab
+20 Slash
+20 Crush
+8 Magic
+0 Range




Spectral Robe Top

Attack Bonus:
-15 Stab
-15 Slash
-15 Crush
+35 Magic
-15 Range


Defense Bonus:
+75 Stab
+75 Slash
+75 Crush
+50 Magic
+0 Range




Spectral Skirt

Attack Bonus:

Currently mage doesn't have any good armour like Bandos or Armadyl and this would help fill in the gaps.

Make it so for the people lazy that have only dragon gloves and low quest points they can't access this boss so I would say yeah I agree on 200+ quest requirement.
I think a quest point requirement is kinda dumb.. "Sorry you can't enter this cave because you've yet to do irrelevant quests like cooks assistant"

Maybe it could be a reward from fully completing RFD since that's probably the hardest & best quest we have.. But then again it already has barrows gloves.


I can see why it would look slightly ridiculous. It's a fair point...

However I'm not sure what else, besides a combat requirement, that would work in setting a minimum benchmark requirement.

I'm sure it would be easy to program a mini-quest with some archaeologist to "unearth" the corp cave.

This looks Too OP but 30% reduction on EVERY type of damage 100% of the time is not ? (divine)
