I appreciate the thoughts and insights you brought to this thread, OP. But Runepass doesn't appeal to me in any form and I won't participate in the trial or if they put it in the game in the future.

I'd rather do TH because then I can unlock 3 chests and get back to playing the game the way I want. And if I miss a day, I'm only out 3 chests and no big deal. From the way I understand it, you have to complete so much xp in a certain skill over a set period of time. That's too stressful for me and so I just won't do it.

You also said they should have stopped TH during this promotion. But why shouldn't I get to use my 3 keys just because they're trying a new MTX out? If they do shut down TH, they should give people plenty of time to use up the keys they might have already bought as well.

Idc if they stop TH, but not if it means we're coerced to do this other MTX.

That is definitely fair feedback, Molly, thank you for your post.

I absolutely share your sentiment with feeling obligated to complete certain tasks to obtain the various rewards; something which really only adds to the already convoluted dailyscape issue. Your point is exactly what I mean though because you are absolutely not alone in feeling the way you do -- which only means it is something Jagex has to account for. Perhaps there could be different versions of RunePass, different ways of stacking or shuffling tasks, different ways of designing the tasks (e.g. PvM focused, e.g. skilling focused) and so on so forth.

The reason why I suggest disabling Treasure Hunter is not to derive players their keys, but rather to simulate a setting in which there is no Treasure Hunter present as this would allow Jagex to determine the actual impact of RunePass without the results being skewed. I would to this end imagine that the 14 x daily keys you miss could be applied as double the subsequent 14 days, much like how the previous weeks have had double keys.

This is well thought out feedback and as such will not get a Jmod response.

Understandable reaction, both of you, though I choose to remain optimistic :) .

Hm. Inb4 Demod. Disagreeing with MTX is a big no no, remember?

Case in point: Moerdred on bonds back in 2013.

I wanted to comment on your post to dismiss the notion that being a volunteer moderator or Community Helper somehow robs you of your ability to post constructive, albeit negative, feedback on controversial topics. That is not how things work. I am a player first, and everything else second.

I am a firm believer -- see my signature -- in offering honest, constructive feedback irregardless of how controversial a given topic is. I cannot comment on previous Forum Moderators and their actions, and would appreciate any further talks in that regard to take place elsewhere, but given how Jagex explicitly has requested constructive feedback, I have to believe that they are willing to accept constructive feedback; hence this thread.

TH is not just a source of free keys and therefore free items/xp but also an obligation tied in many things Jagex advertised like Premier Club. Stopping, even just for a week or 2 of TH will have impacts on terms of contracts with the players and other companies. Removing it is just unthinkable.

I also get your point that a lot of players won't want to grind for the RP xp as this can be seen that TH gave Jagex the most MTX money among other sources and xp items primarily come from TH. Those who want fast track leveling probably won't take a bite at RP. That I see Jagex is not likely to run RP as well as games with primarily proactive action based players where game participation is crucial. They will lose a lot more income without TH.

However, a condensed version of RP (say 1 week) with a more balanced rewards that runs once a while like every 3 months may be an idea. And no TH promotion during that week as RP will be the promotion just like what's happening now, and more importantly that's what Jmod actually meant and clearly so to me. :D :D :D

Well Mexk...you've made my eyes water.

Like Molly, I just won't be participating in RP.
When opening it, just pressed "free" and didn't feel good
about it. Pressed "free" to get it outta the way.

It's worrying to think of logging into the game,
having to spend your time playing MTX - not Runescape.

Missing the communication/not able to soothe the outcry.
Ya gotta have/find Heart.

Thank you, Mexk.

I am ***NOT*** a Jmod.

However, as a random person in the world, not just a player. I won't even bother to respond to accusations like this without exact facts being provided:

"In this regard, I think the one thing I and many others are missing the most is honesty and transparency. Tell us why you are doing what you do in regards to monetisation as opposed to keeping us in the dark. If RunePass, for instance, really is an experiment to potentially replace Treasure Hunter entirely, why is it not presented as such?"

My suggestion is while expressing your idea is fine as a player, but provide your points for the arguments/discussions, but not accusations without factual references. Did Jagex actually say "RunePass really is an experiment to potentially replace Treasure Hunter entirely"?

Whoa. :o This is extremely well written and I can certainly see your passion in your words Mexk.

I support and echo your words as well. I don't mind at all the things in the game that did a good job to thwart bots (ex: bonds), and the such. But the intrusive content such as TH could be winded down just a bit. If RunePass is to be a replacement for TH, then hopefully it wont be as intrusive. It would be nice to see it there.. just not all in your face.

Very well done with the honest feedback. I will be watching with interest. :)

Sure, sorry for not replying to your other posts before.

I am basing my wording on the way I interpreted what was said on stream in conjunction with the following comments Mod Osborne has made on Reddit throughout today. They are somewhat buried on the threads, but if you go to his profile, you can find them all and their associated context. I have tried including the most relevant comments in each screenshot.
