I think a lot of people already do, whether there's MTX that they choose not to interact with or not. :P There's plenty to criticize/have serious questions about TH (and RuneScape's relationship with MTX in general), but this is a really weak angle by which to do so.

Here's a somewhat stronger one-- Jagex, considering that player retention is a key part of the MMO genre and RuneScape in particular, are you sure that giving away/selling lamps that are, effectively, 4x more powerful than a standard one if the player has BXP (since a standard Smoulder is already a 2x in those conditions, and this doubles both the base XP and burned through BXP) is a smart long-term investment? Remember, every XP point that they earn from TH is one less that they have to earn from actually playing the game, and the sooner they achieve their goals, the sooner they'll leave. Don't you want them to play (and by extension, pay) as long as possible?

Players recognize that nerfs to monetization are never fun to shareholders, yet they most definitely are necessary in order to get the game to grow, rather than continuing its dying state. Treasure Hunter needs to go, elsewise the game will continue to look like a mobile cash grab.

I hope you (Jagex) realize that you are angering your players with constant escalating promotions while eroding your credibility about game integrity at the same time. Especially given that dev blog last week.

Not a good look for a company unless you're doing it on purpose... if you are doing it for an ulterior motive then right on!

But quite frankly I don't think you're smart enough to pull something like that off.

It's all madness.

Don't get me wrong, when i was going for max i purchased the odd key package, but to announce this promo then two days later an XP nerf is just laughable.

I've not spent a penny on the game since i did max, mind. And have no intention of spending any moving forward either.
