Yet even more rewards for TH users. Good for them.
Increasing direct xp handout through AFK events and TH keys that take very little time is happening mainly because certain users gave Jagex and other game developers the idea that no matter what great content they put in the game these players would always call it bad. So why should they bother to even care about putting content in the game? Why don't they just give the ones who want to pay for xp the easiest way to do it?
9 straight patch weeks isn't content. And fossil island barely had any improvements made to it since it was released. People loved pof and that will be getting nerfed. No one is complaining about how bad content is unless it actually is bad. I do like fossil island but there isn't much content and alot more can be added there.

Things like Treasure Hunter are also the reason why there are many people who don't take you seriously anymore when you introduce nerfs based on "game integrity", when you refuse to rid the game of one of its biggest game integrity issues (Treasure Hunter). As you said to us in the latest PoF nerf post, this following applies to you as well, Jagex:
"We recognise that nerfs are never fun, even if they are necessary."
Players recognize that nerfs to monetization are never fun to shareholders, yet they most definitely are necessary in order to get the game to grow, rather than continuing its dying state. Treasure Hunter needs to go, elsewise the game will continue to look like a mobile cash grab.
TH turned the game into a laughing stock, I wonder when the CEO takes his responsibilty and resigns.

Lmao
Bond already turned Jagex's games into pay-to-win laughingstocks since 2012. Those players who really can't live with pay-to-win have already moved onto many many other games without instant endgame gear buyable with real money since 2012.
Those who stay with Jagex's games obviously have no problem with extremely pay-to-win MTX.

This game has changed. Treasure Hunter and Free XP is in, old fashioned grinding is out. For me, I'll take Free XP any day.
Jagex does, or at least did try to, give us free XP from many live events like Postage Pete. But again, the same few always said everything is bad so we don't have as many Free XP events.
It won't hurt the ones will to pay for xp though. They can still have Smoulder Lamps and now Smoulder Volcanoes. Of course, we have Vic/Nic and then Portable Vic.
"we took one of the most OP promos, which was literally one of the big ones used by A Friend to max in A FEW DAYS" and made it worse!
God every time I think about coming back for a while to catch up this puts me off. I'm only ever stopping by when I already have membership due to an OSRS update now...

Not only can you get Free XP from events, you can also get it in the form of a bonus, from quests, minigames, D&D's, objects such as lamps, books and urns, and alternative methods of training -- anything that isn't traditional grinding. Things like the Runespan, POF, and Artisan's Workshop are alternative methods because they weren't around when their root skills were introduced. And many of these alternative methods are AFK'able.
Even if I grind, I also get Free XP. I get the 6% bonus from my clan for maintaining level 3 fealty, and sometimes I have bonus XP from TH. I don't do Vic at all, but some people do.
Most of my clannies and friends don't complain about Free XP. They just go after it. This includes volcanic lamps.
