Dilbert,

I'm guessing this kind of event will be a "Fallen Nihil" type where we get 14 days to grind-fest to get 15k tokens. The XP boosting items sound like they are extremely limited to only one a day. I think this will be the first time RuneCoins are going to be used to enhance XP, though 30 minutes once every 24hrs sounds very controlled and extremely limited. The way it takes forever to grind a skill in this game, it doesn't sound like an unfair advantage.

It can be argued as an unfair advantage to complete the event in the future after the law is passed.

MIU,

There has been quite a few posts on the OSRS subreddit about a ninja outfit that will be a cosmetic item for purchase. I haven't dug deep enough to find the source of these discussions, if someone does know, please respond with it so I can update my original postings.
Jagex 2019 New Year Resolution... MTX our customers until RS3 SERVER SHUTDOWN PARTY!
The RS3 Community is treated like :@ RUBBISH :@ due to constant TH promotions.

Don't buy keys on Treasure Hunter, if you do Jagex will only make more TH promotions :(

They would probably just discard TH completely if they didn't think they could profit off it rather than leaving the f2p element on it.

The only reason why they keep it open is if they want to incentivise players to win 200m gp so they buy bonds so they can troll the community in certain events with the use of alternate account. Which to be fair does seem likely as this would raise bond prices and in turn increase the demand for bonds

It is all about natural selection.

Back in the time when Runescape had no MTX whatsoever. Any MTX even just cosmetics like Purple Skin would be considered a "crime". However, when Bond came barely anybody complained, then they had SoF. People began to complain but guess what? Jagex could not just get rid of him because the revenue is very very much needed. So they put TH, which is pretty much SoF re-skinned, back for our enjoyment.

Likewise, those who think Jagex will not add more MTX to OSRS or their new games must be dreaming. Yes, I am quite sure they had been toying with some OSRS outfits behind the scene. When they hired a new OSRS graphic artist months ago, they explicitly put designing classic style cosmetics and armors in its requirement. We haven't gotten any of the new skins in OSRS... yet, but it will come. It is just a matter of time... and then other forms of MTX ... maybe RunePass or TH.

That said, MTX is an integral part of Jagex's business. They acknowledged it. Don't expect more MTX in their other games will lessen any MTX in RS3 because it is already in their usual agenda.

Not even the government can force MTX out of video games because the consumers have their constituational rights. Don't forget PASPA bowed to the 10th Amendment. As long as The People - the majority of kids, real living and breathing kids with verifiable IDs, do not explicitly say they don't want MTX in their video games, sorry Silly Rabbit, MTX in video games is for kids. :)

lmao, no one cares about the 2% stat because the rating for this game is not 18+.

Bond was not welcomed without controversy, people spoke out about it being pay to win. But it was also accepted by many because it combated a worse form of P2W: RWT. And also free players were allowed to become members without paying a single cent.

Those who think OSRS will collapse the instant P2W MTX are dreaming.

Unless they feel pressured to reduce the MTX, such as government regulation, since self-regulation has proven to be completely ineffective.

How did Belgium and Netherlands force MTX out of FIFA then? I recall several games having to disable lootboxes in those countries. Sorry Silly Rabbit, but your perception of reality is warped.

No ones cares about the 2% of underage players? Why did the UK Parliament ask then? :D

Those who think OSRS will collapse the instant P2W MTX are dreaming? Of course not, because whatever MTX OSRS put up will also be accepted like bond. Of course OSRS will not collapse because it will evolve in the same direction as RS3 and survive... it will just evolve into RS3 while RS3 evolve into something more modern and appealing to the modern gamers, particularly the ones from main stream market where the Netflix, Amazon, Miscrosoft, Google, Apple and a lot more are targeted. :)

Sorry silly rabbit, over 9000 games, Runescape included are still selling loot boxes everywhere in the world. Sorry silly rabbit, FIFA is still selling loot boxes in Netherland. :D

They also asked other less than relevant questions. Just because they asked, doesn't mean its important to this discussion. Especially when the UK parliament has no part in this bill.

Bond is not the same as other P2W MTX, I've already explained how.

Sorry Silly Rabbit, but FIFA points can't be purchased in the Netherlands and Belgium, only earned in game. Silly Rabbit, still spreading false information.

I never said I'm the UK Parliament.

I never said I can tell them what is relevant and what isn't.

The Parliament won't know what questions are really relevant until they ask it.

What is even the point of your reply?

You are not UK Parliament and you can tell the UK Parliament won't know what questions are relaly relevant until they ask it?

Thank you for the oxymoron.

Meanwhile in the real world, UK asked comprehensive questions to different companies and individuals in the ENTERTAINMENT business, not just Jagex, regarding GAMING ADDICTION, and these evidence giving entities, Jagex included, answered everything relevantly - and the verdict is UK Parliament never said anything bad about loot boxes and MTX. Nothing whatsoever. Uh oh! They didn't even say a thing about gambling whatsoever... you know why? Because the UKGC alreadhy declared lootbox not gambling. They further reiterated their stance in their meeting with the 14 other EU countries and Washington State of the US. :D

How is it even an oxymoron? Don't you know the phrase "Wisdom of Ignorance"? The UK Parliament aren't knowledgeable in this field as it is still very new and fresh. So, of course, they will try to ask as much as they can, whether its relevant or not until they get an answer and assess it afterwards.

Don't you know that setting up a hearing is very time consuming and costly too? Don't you think its far better to ask all questions that they may have in a single session than to do multiple sessions because they didn't ask questions they thought might've been irrelevant?
