I have to say last week the rainbow one was very rewarding would get multiple exp items and tons of good stuff so much so I couldn't barely use it all for how much time I had to play this one however is horrible. The amount of things I get is low and the ability to lock my way out of things I don't want is impossible unless I want to use 100 hearts which I don't ever even use to block 10 keys worth let alone 6. Ready to get this one over with so I can actually have a good chance at getting some decent bp. I understand people's hate for TH and the pay to progress problems with it but give me a chance to get decent stuff that I want at least like more elite Skilling outfits to round out my collection or more multiple wins so when I drop 50 keys I earn some good stuff and plenty of Skilling stuff not more and more poop stuff I can't even lock myself out of getting because I swear if I get another divine tree or rock I'm gonna break something.

This is, without any doubt at all, the WORST promotion you have EVER had. Since every star and lamp is "promotional" my frozen categories don't work, they aren't frozen, which means I got a nice big star in Hunter, which I already have 200 mill xp in. nice. Zero xp doubled, what a frickin' treat. Sure glad I didn't BUY that insulting key. I got stars in lamps in nearly every category I didn't want one in, which I had frozen, wasting my hearts of ice. I can't even think of a good enough insult for you people other than "uncaring" and "insulting." AND I didn't see a SINGLE shadow box. Not one. You know what you can do with your lame promotion? Yeah, stuff it. I suggest you not continue with wasting my hearts of ice on categories you don't even bother to freeze. I'm so disgusted with you people I may never buy any keys again.

Eh? So basically what you're saying is that because you personally don't find the in-game items to be worth any real value irl, they don't have any real value irl? But the thing is, as long as someone is willing to pay for something with irl money, that something has irl monetary value. And Runescape has had RWTers since the early days, so it's pretty clear that people are willing to pay irl money for the in-game items, and thus they have irl monetary value. > )

Which turns out to be non-legit / illegal, like I said it's like you copy and re-sell Amazon Prime / Netflix / DVD / etc movies.

Amazon Prime is actually a good example:

- You pay for a monthly subscription, like Runescape membership
- If you wanted to watch a particular TV series or movie, you most likely pay for it, like a Runescape MTX
- It's not guaranteed that you enjoy the TV series / movie you just bought, and this is completely subjective, exactly like the outcome of a TH key
- Watching a popular TV series gives you a "perceived", "psychological" advantage against other people who didn't watch it, e.g. they don't know / can't talk anything about it while you do; but at the end of the day there's no real, tangible, physical benefit. Unless you want a career as movie critic :-)
- You can't make a copy of the movie you've just watched and sell them, exactly like Runescape in-game items

So Amazon Prime is gambling, right?

To some countries with antiquated laws like Australia, anything random with real money changing hands may be considered "gambling". So Monopoly the board game may be called "gambling" in Australia too. However, being "gambling" doesn't mean illegal gambling. So, all kinds of games of chance are legal there, although technically they still call them "gambling". :D

And consider TH a fun and legal way to "gamble" like rolling your Monopoly dices then. :D

You might be thinking to yourself, why doesn't jagex just open an xp shop?

Well it's simple. Throw a bunch of unnecessary shit in you don't want while you use your keys, to give you less of what you really want. There fore making you use more keys, and jagex makes more money, and furthering your gambling addiction.

You might not know this Treasure hunter spinner, but you right now, have a gambling addiction. You might not believe it, but you will find in life that you can't get enough of something and you won't be able to stop so easily. Jagex is to blame for this.

I'll never buy keys with real life money. Haven't and still won't. I have bought some with bonds when bonds were cheaper, but still, it isn't worth it. Mainly because half the shit you get isn't what you want, or most xp stars aren't prismatic.

Convert them to oddments and then buy pulse cores in the oddment shop. Most of the time oddments are doubled when you convert and it doesn't take long to save a lot of those up. Most of my daily free keys are converted straight to oddments.

You might be thinking to yourself why doesn't Topps just open up a Baseball Card shop... or Jagex just open a Clue Scroll Item shop?

The reason is very obvious to me as most people, ESRB and PEGI included, find randomness and surprises fun to games. :D

The cosmetic "junk" can sell for decent gp if you don't want it. It is not useless.

I don't think cosmetic overrides are tradable, at least the "junk" I've got e.g. ice warrior outfit. However I don't get all the fuss. If you get something you don't like you can convert them into gp (or oddments!?) straightaway... This is what I do.
