Actually they do have real world value some players have made up to $50,000 playing rs3. There's a reason Jagex still needs to ban rwters.

Is this legit? No, it isn't. It's very much close to be illegal, it's like you pay for Amazon Prime or Netflix subscription and then you copy and sell their movies: ooops, there's already someone doing that, and if they catch them...

Eh? So basically what you're saying is that because you personally don't find the in-game items to be worth any real value irl, they don't have any real value irl? But the thing is, as long as someone is willing to pay for something with irl money, that something has irl monetary value. And Runescape has had RWTers since the early days, so it's pretty clear that people are willing to pay irl money for the in-game items, and thus they have irl monetary value. > )

Which turns out to be non-legit / illegal, like I said it's like you copy and re-sell Amazon Prime / Netflix / DVD / etc movies.

Amazon Prime is actually a good example:

- You pay for a monthly subscription, like Runescape membership
- If you wanted to watch a particular TV series or movie, you most likely pay for it, like a Runescape MTX
- It's not guaranteed that you enjoy the TV series / movie you just bought, and this is completely subjective, exactly like the outcome of a TH key
- Watching a popular TV series gives you a "perceived", "psychological" advantage against other people who didn't watch it, e.g. they don't know / can't talk anything about it while you do; but at the end of the day there's no real, tangible, physical benefit. Unless you want a career as movie critic :-)
- You can't make a copy of the movie you've just watched and sell them, exactly like Runescape in-game items

So Amazon Prime is gambling, right?

Are you really going to take the piss like this just because you can't accept the fact that TH is gambling? It's common sense, bratan: if you buy keys and use them, you have a certain prize(s) you want, but which you can potentially never receive due to it being a gamble to get. Whether or not you continue to appreciate the prize after getting it is a separate matter, the key here is to even get to that point of acquiring the said prize, which is a gamble.

And btw, RWT can both be legal and illegal; buying from other players/illegal 3rd parties like goldfarmers is illegal, while buying from Jagex/Jagex-approved 3rd parties like e.g. paying for the PC Gamer exclusive pet is legal. Not sure what difference it being legal/illegal makes though, because as long as people are willing to pay real money for the in-game items, legal or not, they have real monetary value. > )

I accept the fact I can get rubbish out of them (this is why I never buy any extra key). "Rubbish" is what I perceive I don't like e.g. cosmetics, but I know for sure there's tons of people out there ready to spend fortunes to get those "rubbish" cosmetics.

Not sure about what difference? Something like IP, copyright, ownership, legit profit, taxable and traceable transactions etc. ? Otherwise it would be chaos, pure anarchy, and no one would be willing to start any business.
If you are ready to challenge even this concept, there's no room for you in this world.

Update: I DID get a bonus xp star for Hunter. I have 200 mill in it so I'm supposed to double ZERO xp. That category was frozen, is always frozen, will always be frozen. JAGEX FIX THIS BUG. Any keys I earn will not be spent on this bugged, stupid promotion. I'd rather spend millions of gp for the cosmetics tyvm. FIX THIS. And if you imagine I will buy keys for possibly getting bonus xp in skills I can no longer even GET xp in, you are extremely deranged!

Thats the thing, you can and will still get xp for skills you're 200m in.

TH doesnt take those into account as you can use that bxp for things like vic.

Good to see the HoI overhaul from the Live Event Blog is showing up in this promotion... but 100 hearts just to reroll once is pretty expensive because it takes a Premier Club member over a month to get 100 hearts from daily benefits. Perhaps 50 HoI per reroll is better.

Anyway, good idea to give HoI more functions. :)

Yet the thing is ppl like me had over 20k hearts just gathering so this is a somewhat noice promo to use some up.

Till you figure out that all the tokens are selling/buying for less than 10m ge.
