Jagex's games are all legal. Even staking platinums in Sand Casino is legal. The world governments realized the "gambling" simulations but they found nothing wrong. They are Encouraging!
That's what I'm saying! Gambling exists in TH and RS3 and that's fine! I love gambling with my young son :) casinos don't allow him to enter and gamble there so it's great to be able to gamble on RS3!

You can take your son to Sand Casino in OSRS or re-roll clue scrolls with him too but who cares as long as they are just "gambling" simulation and all legal.
Absolutely - I can take him to the sand casino in RS3 or osrs, I can buy TH keys. All gambling. Thanks for agreeing.

Mysteria event, who knows how many times that have been now but that should give new gambling possibilities every 4 hours so more quality time and variety to spend mortgage on. Its not illegal so who cares if you accidentally spent next months rent?

Mysteria gives more choices to the players in using their same number of TH keys in a more transparent way rather. It is essentially similar to the concept of Clairvoyance in TH or X-ray Llamas in Fortnite or Blueprints in its sister game Rocket League.

'The price of items in the Oddments Store is also increasing slightly'

Sneaky 80% price increase on TH-key oddment purchase from 250 to 450 for one key while increasing rare reward oddments amounts slightly. Needles to say this is done to increase you spending real money on keys. Im sure this was the player feedback they received.

It only shows how naive some people are regarding loot boxes and government regulations.

The only loot boxes Fortnite has are X-ray Llamas and only in their Save The World PVE mode. The prizes are fully revealed before the eys of the players and they have complete control to spend their keys or not. There is no "gambling" or Game-of-Chance mechanism to the consumers.

Besides, the Children Commissioner correctly recommended parental control and spending limit on in-games purchases as well as play time restriction on games.

Spending limits would be great. At the moment you can spend thousands of dollars per day on RS3 TH keys across multiple accounts. Maybe $100/year would be appropriate for rs3.

Most platforms already have parental controls. If government requires them to they can put up whatever limits they want there. In fact, the UK governments aren't even suggesting individual game developer to put up any limit. They are recommending the game industry to self-regulate and the game platforms to provide parental guidance and tools through their Askaboutgame initiative.

Jagex, like the other game developer and publishers, just use whatever the platform and the likes of UKIE provide them.

Bringing financial harm within the scope of the Government’s forthcoming online harms legislation. Developers and platforms should not enable children to progress within a game by spending money and spending should be limited to items which are not linked to performance.

All games which allow players to spend money should include features for players to track their historic spend, and there should be maximum daily spend limits introduced in all games which feature in-game spending and turned on by default for children.

The Government should take immediate action to amend the definition of gaming in section 6 of the Gambling Act 2005 to regulate loot boxes as gambling.

The Government’s age appropriate design code must include provisions on nudge techniques and detrimental use of data, as proposed in the draft code.

Games that are distributed online should be subject to a legally enforceable age-rating system, just as physical games are. There should be a requirement for an additional warning to be displayed for games which facilitate in-game spending. The Government should consult on whether age ratings of all games should be moderated pre-release, just as physical games are.

Online games should be a key focus of digital citizenship lessons in schools, rather than lessons focusing exclusively on social media. Teachers involved in the delivery of these lessons should be familiar with how key online games that are popular with children work.
