Actually TH is not the issue as you can see the drops you get. The issue is people buying bonds to stake or buy equipment to get drops, or buy food to get drops. TH is not the issue according to the EU.

And yes, the da would have to be banned first, then the wilderness second

You cant see what drops you get, its random. Else, prove your point and unbox 5 purple prizes on a row, thank you. If you are implying to the item list, there is only 6 chest to choose from but the list of items is more, therefor its random what you are going to receive and choosing the chest doesn't do anything. It may show purple prizes that you may receive that 'round' but no matter which chest you click it wont actually be there, so the purple prize shown on the list is merely to lure you.

If the list showed only 6 items from the 6 chests then it would be accurate but seeing 5 white and 1 yellow possible prize doesnt actually encourage you to open chests.

Randomness doesn't imply gambling.

Even Church of England has condemned the lootboxes now and Jagex is not going to go against their word because even my previous account name Antichristt was removed.

'Addictive computer games are "casting a dark shadow over the colorful world of childhood play", the Church of England has warned.

The right reverend Dr Alan Smith, the bishop of St Albans, told the Telegraph that companies were “flooding” games with “harmful products” that were “gambling with children’s lives”.

The bishop is now calling on the Government to ban the sale to children of video game ‘loot boxes’, in-game features which dispense randomized digital items, describing them as a “gateway to gambling”.

His warning comes after Culture Select Committee last week said that the loophole in UK gambling legislation that allows loot boxes to be sold to minors should be closed.

In his comments to this paper, Dr Smith also issued a stern rebuke for the gaming industry, which he accused of “putting profit ahead of children’s lives”. He said: “Instead of continuously shifting the emphasis on to parents and children themselves, the industry needs to wake-up and start taking responsibility. Putting children’s lives ahead of their profit margins seems, to me, a pretty basic ask.”

In a comment piece for Telegraph, the Bishop also dismissed EA’s assertion that ‘loot boxes were “surprise mechanics” saying they were “not innocent toys”, and he questioned if a new gambling act was needed to protect children from the rise of such video game features. '

PREACH!

Try to take words out of context again? These people are talking about protecting children from all the Online Harms including but not limited to toxicity, trolling, disinformation, distortion of people's images, etc as a whole. Nothing specific to loot boxes.

You can find "gambling" in many family style theme parks and recreational facilities too...

Oh! Pay a quarter and get a chance to shoot some hoop to win a Teddy Bear or a random mystery box. But is that gambling sold to little kids? Well, we know kids don't need to be 18 there to win a Teddy Bear and such.

I don't know if the Teddy bear or the mystery boxes with Mickey Mouse's image on it addictive or not to kids though. :D

That's why parental guidance is needed, not just blindly to say this or that is gambling just because it is a game-of-chance.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/09/15/addictive-video-game-features-should-banned-children-gateway/

Here is some reading for the 'out of context' accusations, nothing is out of context.

Dr Smith, who is the Church’s lead spokesman on gambling, said: “The committee's report highlights what parents and guardians already sense: seemingly innocuous games with chance loot-boxes are turning children's innocent play into a gateway to gambling.

“Harmful and addictive products flooding children's games cast a dark shadow over the colourful world of childhood play. Games should be a place of adventure and discovery, not a vehicle for profit-making at children's expense.

“I welcome the report's clarity about the potential for harm that gaming poses, in line with the experience of the NHS and the stance of the World Health Organisation on Gaming Disorders. It demands urgent action by Government if they are not to look 'asleep at the wheel.

“These games are gambling with children’s lives and action is needed, not in the near-future, but now. As the pressure to buy Christmas games starts in earnest,
parents and guardians need to know what they’re buying for their children.

Read that carefully. They said
parents and guardians need to know what they're buying for thier children
. They are asking for parental control and information of the CONTENT to be revealed to the parents. It is exactly what the DCMS recommended, not that they recommended banning loot boxes.
