If it's not Xau-Tak, I'll dress up as Meg and let Sliske pummel the **** out of me again.

Also, i think that maybe the yellowish dialogue that we see is the 6th unborn elder god. It is a well known theory that the elder god is the one, 'not of form' and i believe Sliske knows this and serves it to gain his own power.

He did say he only used the stone for knowledge, rather than power. Who's to say he ever touched it at all?

Xau-Tak is...possible, but they keep seeding these hints of that god around in seemingly random places, all pointing to the pirate questline. Surely if that's where Xau-Tak is going to show up in full force, then it'd be someone else for Sliske?

I'm banking on he's either talking to the stone or one of the elder goddesses via the stone's magic.

Hmm perhaps you are right, the voice sounded a lot like the Kra from the Heart of Stone quest so it is possible.

Am I the only one who wondered if it was Mah...or at least a Mah's consciousness...separate from her body?

Nah, Amascut fills that role better (explaining her desire and even ability to consume souls as well as what exactly happened when she went up the volcano and was left on Freneskae).

IMO 3 possibilities.
1. If this is indeed in the past, it's right after ROTM. In which case I think the most likely suspect is....GUTHIX. Guthix despises the young gods and would want them gathered so they could be defeated. Guthix lets Sliske kill him as he is tired of living. He even states such in TWW. Plus Guthix isn't banned by his own edicts.

2. Zaros - this makes sense as Zaros has shown he can contact people from Frenny with or without the Edicts being in place. So it really wouldn't matter when this occurred. Seren constantly warns us not to trust Zaros, so him playing us for a fool, along with other members of his group, isnt out of the question. He couldve picked up the location from our mind. And if anyone is familiar with the "siphon", it's him. Plus the "mysterious" adjective fits him best. He works in the shadows. The only question would be motivation....

3. Everyone is saying that the voice is unknown. I think the gods could maybe change their voices, but if they couldn't, my 3rd option would be Xau-Tak. He's the only god we haven't had communication with.

I rule out the elder gods altogether as they can not speak without destroying mortal beings, which is why they have the mouth pieces.
I have seen the dark universe yawning, where the black planets roll without aim;
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name.

It's a sixth age quest.
