The Mining/Smithing rework does not include us making Dragon(kin) equipment. It will just have us making our own equipment out of the same material that the Dragonkin used (Orikalkum). Since we are obviously not Dragonkin, and smithing t60 gear isn't going to require While Guthix Sleeps for access to the Dragon Forge, the gear we make will turn out differently to the stuff the Dragonkin made.

Jagex made it clear that they want the actual Dragon items to remain drop/shop only. You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

Orikalkum is weaker than Dragon without the Dragonkins superior ways of smithing.

Orichalcum is the ore, and you mix it with Dragons blood (high tier coal) to get dragon bars. They constantly say dragon smithing. They need to raise the stats of dragon and/or tier to keep the lore consistent. Or have it so the Dragonkin also make those high tiers of metal

You do not get dragon bars. You get orikalkum bars. Same ore, different metal (think iron vs steel).

Orikalcum is the ore. It is combined with Dragon's blood to make Dragon bars

Canonically, iron ore can make:

Iron when processed on its own.
Steel when processed with coal.
White when processed by the White Knight's methods.
Black when processed by the Black Knight's methods.

All the same ore, but the resulting metal varies greatly.

Similarly orikalkum ore can make:

Orikalkum when processed with dragon's blood.
Dragon when processed by the Dragonkin's methods.

In essence, just as White metal is a form of Iron but Iron is not a form of White metal, so to is Dragon metal a form of Orikalkum but Orikalkum is not a form of Dragon metal.

Two things. 1) Jagex have, several times, stated that as of the current plans, Dragon is Dragon. All the t60 stuff will still be called Dragon at this stage.

2) Even in such a case as they made the distinction between the functions of the two processing methods, I then want to see a boost to the Dragon made by the Dragonkin to maintain the fair amount of lore regarding the metal.

…No. I really don't like the word "Loreflail". I'm pretty sure Jagex has considered this, hence the distinction in how the metal will be made. They also did try to have Honed Masterwork Armor hinge entirely on the Dragon Forge. Not to mention that we don't even know any lore of the higher tiers, so it's not like their very existence alone is enough to be a "Loreflail".

... But we're not making Dragon, we're making Orikalkum. It's even going to be a lower level than regular dragon equipment is. I'm guessing (judging by you not knowing this), you didn't see the most recent plans put out by Raven and Wilson.

We're making a weaker version of Dragon armour forged from the base ore (Orichalcum) without the infused dragon's blood. It's not a lorefail. A
