What different types of troops do each of the faction have?

For this thread, name a faction(s) and list all the different types of troops, units, races, you can that the faction has access to that would form a posable military of theres.

Which faction would you say has the strongest military, lore-wise and stat-wise

I say Seren has the strongest military.

Seren's military consists of:

•Cadarn rangers, mages, and Iowerth warriors, which are extremely strong. A plauer would actually have to wear good armor and food to kill them for a long period, unlike those Varrock guards/fally knights. I assume they also have access to Seren prayer, meaning they are strongest in teams, working together.

•They also have powerful automatons from the Traehaern clan.

•Creatures of the forest, such as wolves.

•Creatures of the Spirit Plane, via Amlodd clan. The Amlodd state that they specialise in combating the evil forces through aid from the Spirit Plane.

•Treants. Baxtorian stated he could raise a forest of treants to fight for him if wanted to. The Crys could do this

•Gnomes. Right now, gnomes are pretty much working with Seren as her beliefs are essentially derived from Guthix. Also, they have been elven allies in the past. They ride on battle tortoises and stuff and use anima-based magic, along with crystal (as seen with hazelmere)

•Crystal shapeshifters. One trip to Tarddiad is all Seren needs to do get them to come to Gielinor and completely obey her in their current state of mind.

•Meilyr clan members play a supportive healing role. Meilyr tends the sick with potions and food,

• Ithell songstresses can boost morale of armies like the elves in Armies of Gielinor

• Hefin can prevent troops from going insane, PTSD, etc. through yoga and meditation.

•Player-base humans.
I worship Mah, for she is mah homegirl! The correct adjective for Mah's followers are: Mahomies, Mah-homeboys, or Mah-homegirls.

I like this thread. Military history is my passion.

Right now, I'd say Saradomin is in the best position.

- Saradomin's forces, excluding his commanders, is almost entirely human, both living and undead.
- He has de jure access to the military of the Kingdoms of Misthalin, Asgarnia and Varrock, though he may not be able to rely on Thoros' or Roald's support.
- He's guaranteed the support of three well trained and established military orders - the White Knights, the Temple Knights and the Paladins.
- He has the entirety of Zilyana's army in the GWD (which, except for her and her bodyguards, is also human).

Whilst this is not necessarily the most unified force, it's definitely the largest and he almost certainly has the best reserves of any God. The average (less so now, but still the dominant trend) human is Saradominist, and he has by far the most extensive supply of churches and preachers, which would maximize his ability to drum up volunteers. He's also got the morale bonus of his victory of the Battle of Lumbridge. If he were to lose his numerical superiority, though, then I think he'd be in serious trouble.

Up until recently, I would've said that the Zarosians would've been the ones to benefit most from Saradomin's increasingly lack of dominance over mankind, but due to the fact that most of their forces are distracted in the two God Wars Dungeon and the end of Fate of the Gods, he's no longer in a position to, even if he wanted to.

I note how you say the Serenists have the best force. I would agree on paper, but they, and Seren, have little will to fight. They also have basically no support outside Tirannwn, excluding whatever human supporters they've managed to drum up and their forces in GWD2, which would leave them at a distinct disadvantage in anything other than a defensive war.

Yet if you take it as a whole, the Dwarves and Gnomes while not large army wise as some, can offer any allies high and fast mobility. The capability to be able to supply troops and move them quickly with little to no interruption is a highly prized ability. Which if the Saradominist made enamies of the dwarves would place Falador in an untenable position defence wise. There may be a lot of Saradominist but they are widely spread so bring that al to bare would not be easy in the least.

While the Gnome gliders would not be a flexible as and Icyene's ability to fly, the gnome glider can be flown by anyone with the right training. That adds reconnaissance and aerial attacks with relying on the species alone.

The troubles that have been brewing in Saradominist territories would also limit the amount of troops available, draining the realms of troop to fuel a war would leave them vulnerable to counter attacks by hostile parties. With Asgarnia on the verge of civil war, with the political bickering that was withered the combined strength of all the factions in that country, there is nothing to draw on there.

If Zamorak could have called on his full strength and kicked off trouble in Argarnia, a civl war, instead of just waltzing into Lumbridge, Bol would have been a walk over as the White Knights would either have been outnumbered or risked losing Asgarnia altogether.

But as it was, Zamorak rushed in and Saradomin did the same, with no real preparation.

You also have to consider that Saradominist territory is home to lot of other factions, which with the ham handed way certain hidden parties were treating everyone else, would have made drawing down on troop for other things inadvisable. Heck, the King of Misthalin didn't even send a single envoy to Lumbridge for BoL, he had no one to spare, let alone send help.

The rest of the Saradominist territories are still recovering from the chaos caused by the rogue elves. The fact is he only has his white knights to call too. Let's also not forget that the Godless although small would also be stirring the pot to keep everyone as busy at anything but a new God War as possible.

The Bandosians have withdrawn their forces from Burthrope, with only token attacks, leaving that faction room to organise now. They may push their case for contrll of what they have of Asgarnia. That would also include the Prince now having time to deal with the White Knights original treachery. Especially after recently being abandoned by the Falador to be eaten by trolls and the leadership controlling Asgarnia's purse strings trying to pull the funding from the Imperials guard during a war with the trolls for a mere political advantage. That pot is going to boil over soon.

Another faction of Asganiran no one takes notice of is the Void Knights, the military arm of the druidic Guthixians. The Voids Knights are close to winning the war with the Pests. Then that large, very well armed party, with an ability with enchanted combat items that would be hard to match... Well, that army of combat veterans are to going to go home. Then ask pointed questions about where their King is, and they will not be happy until they see him for themselves. The White Knight are in a real pickle, they are just not aware of it yet.

No help is coming from Asgarnia or Misthalin. And the Ardougne area is questionable as wel.

(Cont.)

Armadyl is benefiting most from Saradomin's fall in popularity and he does also benefit from a recent victory and the interest of the two tier 2 gods, who might consider him a ally in the near future, but he's in the worst position otherwise in that he doesn't have a single city in Gilenor to expand his control out of or to fall back on and only one army currently present on Gilenor (his army from the BatB having seemingly dispersed). That does leave him with substantially reduced expectations, however, making it much easier him to claim a victory, whether it be in morale, tactics or strategy.

Zamorak would, of course, be in a much better position if he'd won the Battle of Lumbridge. If he had, then I'd say that he'd have become the God to beat. DAT had definitely enabled him to recover somewhat and he does have a very wide a pretty loyal base of supporters, but he's still coming in after a very public defeat to Saradomin, whilst what happened in DAT, even if you helped him, is more or less between the participants.

Another faction that is ignored on a regular basis is the Fremennik, they are now more of a united people. The last time Saradomin tried to invade their lands to add them to his own, during the last god war, they fought his entire army to a stand still. The Saradominists left. With what the Moon Clan has been up to since, I'd say they are in a better position now than they were in the last war. Thanks to Dungeoneering they have access to a minimum of level 80 combat gear, and if they bent the rules and took items out of Daemonhiem, level 99. It would be a big mistake to not take them into account. The purpose of adventure is to shine light into dark places,

The White Knights are not going to lose Asgarnia.

Firstly, you discuss how neighbouring kingdoms won't send aid. Tell me this: if you're Roald, a Saradominist monarch with a Saradominist advisor, would you want to see a Saradominist leader being overthrown in the Kingdom next door by an army of Guthixians and Zamorakians, who then take control of the government? Is that going to make your life easier? At least there's a river between you an Morytania. Varrock is right next to Edgeville's. Edgeville's is right next to Asgarnia, to the point that the border between the two countries is disputed by the player base.

You're also operating off the assumption that Bunthorpe and the Void Knights speak for the majority of Faladians, who's support you'd require to take over the city. If you're the capital and largest city of a country, do you really want to be told what to do by another area? If you're a Saradominist, as undoubtedly the majority of Faladians are, would you like to be ruled over by a non-Saradominist, particularly during what is effectively a second God War which now, thanks to Sliske's scoreboard and the emissaries, everyone will probably know about by now.

Furthermore, you're acting like Saradomin wouldn't step in personally to keep the White Knights in power, which he obviously would as they're his most loyal supporters. Guthix is dead, Zamorak is now weaker than him and got creamed last time they met and Zaros and Seren and Armadyl are hardly going to support the Zamorakians, so that basically would leave us. I notice how last time we defied Saradomin, he got his way anyway.

That's not to mention the fact that the White Knights are pretty much entirely based in Falador, which is one of the most fortified cities on Gilenor and also means that their forces would only have to concentrate on one area.

Other issues would be that, according to Denulth, the Imperial Guard get their funding from the White Knights and you're assuming that the Zamorakians and Guthixians would work together and that there wouldn't be a power struggle, which there almost certainly would. There is no organisation in Falador similar to the Ardougne Council that could convince the army (which is mainly the White Knights when you think about it) to rebel. You're also counting on the Dwarves getting involved, but the Dwarves are probably sick of the Zamorakians by this point given the whole Chaos Dwarf thing and the fact that the Kinshra are on a very humiliating losing streak to the White Knights, which basically means that morale is in the toilet.

If I was the White Knights, I'd be feeling pretty smug too.

No. I am operating under the assumption that there is a clique within the Faldorian leadership that don't seen ayone else in Asgarnia for a single % point of what they are capable. The fact is the vast majority of the armed forces that could be brought to bare have so far stayed out of the general squabble. So far. But the Sword or Raddalin and that letter would change everything. And it will come out, nothing stays hidden forever.

As for King Roald, he wouldn't even help a province of his own people. The Saradominist Advisor one that seems to get his way most of the time. And all his attention, and that of the King is focused of Morytania.

You are also operating under the assumption that the vast majority of Asgarnia is Saradominist, when nothing could be further from the truth. They control Falador and the Asgarnian purse strings and nothing more. That clique would like to control it all which is why it finds it self in the mess it is in today. The 2nd Siege of Falador is the precursor to finally resolving that mess, though a civil was is liable to be in the mix. And the chances of it being Saradominist leadership, well it's not a guarantee as who ever it is has to be able to satisfy all of the factions that make up the hodgepodge that is Asgarnian culture. Including the Black Knights.

As for the Dwarves, you assume I mean them to support Zamorakians, which is not the case. But they would be caught in the middle, that is if anyone on any of the sides actually wakes up and smells the coffee enough to realise their strategic importance.. And should one faction try to rule them all by force, well as I said, there are a lot more factions that make up Asgarnia than some Black and White Knights.

Saradomin stepping in personally would take the war straight to God Wars levels of destruction. Massive damage and loss of life. Others would definitely step in as well. A situation that would make what could have been merely a civil war, look like handbags at 10 paces.
