I walk down the temple hall and turn to see Azzanadra sitting behind a desk, flipping through the pages of a large book and taking no notice of my entrance.
"Uh, Azzanadra, you wanted to speak to-"
"Take a seat." Azzanadra cuts off my words and nods toward a chair opposite the desk, without taking his eyes off of his book.
I hesitate for a moment, the tone of his voice did not seem pleasant.
He lifts up his eyes from his book with a stern expression and immediately I run over to the chair and sit. I remain silent for a few moments, expecting him to explain why he summoned me here. After several more seconds I decide just to ask.
"So what did you-"
"My sources tell me you were at the Grand Exchange in Varrock yesterday."
I shake my head from confusion. What does that have to do with anything?
"Uh, yeah, I was selling off some loot I got from some slayer tasks."
Azzanadra suddenly slams the book shut, with a sound so loud it echos throughout the temple and makes me shift in my seat.
"You bought a weapon too." Azzanadra says, with a tone straining to remain calm.
"Oh, yeah, I got a godsword to help with slayer training, so I don't use so much food on tasks-"
"A
Saradomin
Godsword." Azzanad*a emphasizes the word 'Saradomin' with clear distaste.
"Well yeah, that's the one that heals after all. Why does that matter to you?"
Azzanadra looks shocked and heartbroken, mouthing the words 'matter' and 'why' as he comes to terms with what I said.
"Azzanadra...?"
Azzanadra shakes his head and brings himself back to his calm but stern expression.
"I am disappointed in you. You should have bought a Zaros godsword instead, to strike down his enemies in his honor! Yet you...betray him, by buying a Saradomin godsword instead? How could you!"
"There isn't a Zaros godsword Azzanad*a."
"Then you must rectify that with all due haste, and
maybe
then I will forgive you. Maybe."
You can only fully appreciate a story when you experience it through the eyes of one of its characters.
