Talk about Varrock. Maybe they really need to upgrade their military. Perhaps they can start off by not issuing Bronze weapons and have a good military. I understand that Varrock is in a bad shape and have a lot of money problems. But hey, the king need to suck up and do his job. Lol

It's really not just Varrock.

The Kinshra would have fallen under complete Kinshra control if it weren't for a certain adventurer.

Then there's Ardougne, where half of the city lived in squalor and were to be sacrificed while one King organized the assasination of his brother and the Zamorakian Mahjarrat who used to rule the area was resurrected and plots to take his kingdom back. Oh yeah, and all the while mind controlling slugs working toward world domination lie in wait for a stooge to free their queen so they can act.

And who could forget Ashedale which not only had a necromancer try to take over, but was subsequently taken over by Crassians.

And Tutorial Island which was sunk and cursed by a single Zamorakian mage.

I can't deny that humanity has flourished (although I'd attribute that to the discovery of Runecrafting more than Saradomin's system of order), but I equally can't deny just how precarious it has been maintaining it.

Sorry, I played too much of the new Age of Empires 2 game.

Forgive me if I mistaken, but wasn't it revealed in one of the PoP storylines that the reason the seas cleared enough to allow reasonably safe travel that Quin started a war with the Khans of Wushanko which killed off much of their forces as well as many of her sea monsters? I don't think the Khans are in much of a position to invade the east given the losses they'd have suffered, and the fact that any khan who'd send off some forces to invade would leave themselves more vulnerable to attack by the other khans in the region.

I think that storyline is based on The Whaler, The Occult and The Assassin. But according to the Black Marketeer. He said that the Khans from The Pincer controls massive ships, wealth and massive armies. That's why slave traders dare not travel beyond to the Pincer. If you talk about The Scythe the Khans are always killing each other. So. I'm sure these Khans won't send off their armies. Meanwhile, the Khans at Bowl are all rich and care for wealth. So, I think the Khans in the Skull can be capable of invading the west. Maybe not the Khan at Thalassia cuz he got killed by the Assassin in the Jade in the Throat story line. Lol

That is another thing... THEIR KING IS WEAK AND MANIPULATED! At least he showed he is not irredeemable by getting rid of Aeonisig

See this is what bugs me, we're always told that Saradomin will do anything to protect his followers, but there is simply no evidence of this ingame.

The white knight during HW, Tuska during World event 3, The Battle for Falador, what's going on on Teragard right now, Protecting the WG from the dragonkin during MPD, hell you can go right over to falador castle right now and murder his followers right in front of him. Saradomin isn't wanting to make people prosperous, he wants power.

To play Devils Advocate...

"The white knight during HW." - A lone white knight captured by the Dragonkin. It's entirely possible, and in fact quite likely, that Saradomin doesn't know he even exists, never mind that he is captive. Not to say that if he did know about him that he'd launch some great rescue mission, but still.

"Tuska during World Event 3." - I don't believe any of the gods themselves took part in that World Event. It's been a while so I forget why, but if I remember rightly, Armadyl and Zamorak also weren't there personally, and even Vorago only showed up for a sweet KO punch.

"The Battle for Falador." - Perhaps he didn't want to escalate the situation. If he intervened personally it would probably provoke Zamorak into also personally intervening. To put it simply, you don't s**t where you eat.

"Teragard." - You've got a point there, although none of us really know why he is absent from Teragard.

"Protecting the World Guardian from Dragonkin." - Similar thing to the World Event, really. Other than Icthlarin, none of the other gods were particularly eager to help us out there, if you followed them or otherwise.

"Falador Castle." - It's fairly safe to chalk this up to gameplay purposes. Locking off people from killing White Knights might be a bit silly. Just gotta use some suspension of disbelief and all that.

Get rid of Ellamaria. Financial problem solved, then Varrock can make a treaty with the barbarian village so they can safely get coal for steel at least. Then they can make cannons with help from the Imcandos. That's their best chance of survival without us.
Prepare for hell on RuneScape in Naval Cataclysm!
