Wowie, boy did we get some new lore in SE, but while everyone's talking about Jas, Sliske being inside us, Armadyl liking dude birds,and the stone of jas being destroyed, I thought we'd talk about Saradomin in this thread and start puzzling some old and new lore together.

First off I want to talk about something that Saradomin is known for, wing-ripping. While I was expecting there to be more wing-ripping in the quest, we weren't left loreless (nor wingless!) We got a nice little tidbit straight from Saradomin's mouth about it for some reason when we asked him about Zamorak. Many people in the lore community like to believe the Garlandia was trying to incite something, and she was....peace.

Saradomin: We were heading into a time of war, against an aggressor native to New Domina. I had been forced to militarize the noble icyene. But one refused. She cried out that the conflict would solve nothing. She proclaimed that all icyene should lay down their spears and embrace a peaceful approach.
Her words were....enticing. I wanted to follow them myself. I would have loved little more than for conflict to end and peace to flourish. I had to show the icyene what they faced if they did not fight. I had to show them how the enemy would show no mercy...just as I had to show no mercy.


Now I'm stopping there for a second. I want everyone to notice how in depth Saradomin goes into this next part.


That is in detail what Saradomin did and thought he was doing for the betterment of the world.

Next, I want to cover 2 older quotes that got proved even more right today.

Zamorak: Do you really need to ask me opinion on that hypocrite? Saradomin would see the universe as his great empire. Everyone trapped in roles he has chosen (Sic:for) them. What he preaches to his followers is nothing more than a life of moral slavery. He would see free will crushed and removed and his will raised above all. I feel sorry for his followers, I truely do, they do not see that they are forging their own chains and shackling us all.

Wowie. But the sad thing is is that everyone above is a "Biased npc" and can't be trusted. Only way that we accept this is if it came straight from Saradomin's own mouth. Too bad that didn't happen, oh wait it did.

Saradomin: Under my 'control', people could thrive. Everyone would have the reassurance that they know where they belong and how they should behave. This people crave. Deep down everyone wants to know where they sit in the world. What you call control, I would argue is true freedom. Freedom to know how life should be lived and how to fulfill one's potential.

Wowie. As we can see Saradomin wants to take control of everyone and assign them to a role and make sure they do that role. That my friends is authoritarianism.

Let's not forget that Saradomin doesn't want peace with the gods, he wants servitude.

Now, let's talk about Saradomin's temper and people who get in his way. While the first bit already covers what happened to someone that gets in his way, what happens if someone decides knowing all they know that they want to #StopSaradomin? Well we get his usual shtick, threats. Luckily I didn't get a face full of defying world guardian frying this time.




He wasn't able to act on them seeing as Zamorak was there, or I think he would've tried again.

Now, let's discuss something Saradomin is also known for and is being discussed in a few other threads, Genocide.

Saradomin is known for quite a few genocides, The Naragi and Zarosians for 2. We learned of a possible 3rd (Wowie!) in his ingame dialog.

Saradomin doesn't say the words 'no longer' but they hang in the air, spoken by unsaid.

Wowie. What happened to the native New Domina? We learn from Saradomin's dialog that he just loves war (and who called that?).

We were told that runefest that the idea jagex had for the centaurs was for their world to be dieing and

the one true god

going and making a shard world (which would've been a lorefail). Jagex may have scrapped that and done it somewhat with the icyene where he moved them from a dying planet and once he arrived he decided to kill the lot of natives. Or perhaps they were another race that didn't bend the knee like Saradomin just loves to see. We'll learn more about this in the future, but until then we'll have to wait.
