Im saying that the Dragonkin gains rage, due to the curse being a purposeful defense mechanism forced upon them by Jas. when they infused eggs with their essence, it may have also transplanted some of the curse into the offspring. The Dragonkin seems to follow wherever the Stone goes but comes from the east; which may be as simple as the Sun setting in the west. (alluding to a Chronometric-themed curse)
So Dragonkin somehow teleports when the stone is used. but the more advanced and possibly intelligent dragons could manipulate spatial space for teleportation. or directly using Magic in the case of some of the Dagannoth. essentially, would it be possible that some Dactyl (or Kerapac) purposely released some Proto-Dragons into the region to see how they adjust, after realizing their adaptive ability. only for them to grow out of control unchecked? with little predators and a bleak environment, they simply evolved out most of the Dragon-like features and adopted something amphibious.
Wyverns are probably Draconic, but are inadvertently unadjusted to their conditions for whatever reason and died out, though their latent reanimation into skeletons is unknown as to wherever they're man-influenced circumstances or something inherent with the Lizards', let alone the curse-influenced Dragonkin physiology.
V also grew from a Neanderthal into a Human, during a time where there was already regular Humans existing for a few ages. the stone may have been an ascendency device. the Dagannoth's seemingly evolutionary defenses might have came from the Dragonkin's link.
Plus, isn't it strange that the Bane ammo works on Dragons, Basilisks, Abyssal Demons AND Wallasalkis? the Balmung made from Bane Metal by Kharshai needed Dagannoth (counts Wallasalkis) blood to seemingly activate it? the spell was created by Kethsians. the Abyssals may be explained due to being exiled by Zamorak during the 20-year war of Infernus and devoured Dragonkin remains, and warped by the Abyssal energies.
