Another possibility is that the fairy homeworld or Zanaris is the hominoid homeworld. Apparently, Bik created the fairies in an effort build a perfect world. The fairies somehow later acquired a way of leaving the planet and ended up finding Zanaris. There are a couple possibilities that I can think of:
-Perhaps Bik experimented with other types of hominoids before settling with fairies and those hominoids found a way off the planet just like the fairies and had diverging evolutionary paths for each planet that they ended up on.
-Perhaps the fairies are the common ancestor of apes, humans, gnomes etc. and got to the different worlds either through the way the found Zanaris or after they found Zanaris.
I OBJECT!
The Fairy echo in the Memorial to Guthix strongly implies that the Zanarian Fairies are a hybrid or rather a mutualistic symbiosis between two species Guthix found on two separate nature worlds: An almost hivemind intelligent fungus very much like a super-evolved Cordyceps and a flying, teleporting invertebrate species that somehow affected the climate of their planet.
Simiiforms and of course Homonids are not invertebrates, not fungi, and certainly not invertebrate/fungal symbionts.
I was really pleased when Jagex went the invertebrate route with the fairies, because it made my thread about fairy eyeballs years ago not so crazy in retrospect. (HA! TAKE THAT, LORE FORUM! THEY HAVE COMPOUND EYES!) There are some things about Guthix's Fairy Echo that make me question the accuracy of Guthix's theorizing, of course, especially the part that contradicts the lore about Cheanannais. But, Cheanannais was only mentioned in the Lore Q&A at RuneFest 2016, and Memorial to Guthix was an in game update from January 2017.
Now, just because Guthix thinks something happened a certain way doesn't mean it did happen that way, but I think we can trust his judgment about the anatomy of fairies. Humility is self-destruction, pride is the destruction of all else. And He said, "
