1) Will we ever get the full story behind the temple that Tarn hid out in?
1) Seeing as how full of traps it is, I would imagine he built it, or at least part of it, for privacy in his studies.
We know this from Tarn's diary:
18th of Pentember
I have seen the crystal that I seek, however it is guarded by a spirit of extreme power! I shall have my undead create a small dungeon, where I will be safe from attack and then I shall send them forth to slay this fell spirit. I'm sure even one as powerful as that will fall to the numbers of undead that I can summon.
19th of Pentember
Work began on the passage to my suite of rooms. My slaves work hard when the work is as simples as this, and we made excellent progress. The only thing of interest is that we found some strange stone blocks, of a design that I have not seen before. I may study them further when I have more time available.
20th of Pentember
Today we excavated the entrance to a building! I do not recognise the style of masonry used, but the creators must have been about the same height and girth as I am, judging by the size of doorways and stair-cases. The temple is fraught with traps, but will make a fine base for me to wait whilst my army of undead retrieves a piece of the Salve Crystal. I have several theories pertaining to the origin of this strange temple. If I am correct, we are deep underground, directly below the village of Burgh de Rott. It may be that this temple was built as a fortification against an invasion from the desert nomads, who live to the west of here. Alternatively, perhaps it was built as the bequest of one of the lesser vampire lords who ruled this area when Drakan came to power. However, I believe that it was probably built to guard an ancient treasure. My reasoning is thus; there doesn't seem to be any type of altar that we have found yet and the temple is littered with traps.

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.
Instead of seeking answers to lore questions, I'd like to know
original sources
for some of the things which i have seen many players mention, but which I haven't been able to find myself. I have searched for these from many sources (quests, novels, postbags, god letters, AoG, Q&As, official wiki, etc) with no luck.
1) Azzanadra destroying Thammaron's army single-handedly
(no mention of Azzanadra @ The Golem/museum as far as I know)
2) Aviansie creating the godsword with the "tears of Icyene" to kill Zamorak with the other gods or something along those lines
(couldn't find it @ original God Wars dungeon news [28 August 2007]/official RS wiki/Armadyl's Assault/Zilyana's notes/Ashuelot Reis)
3) V---- having lived in the first/second age

The source for 2 no longer exists. It was an out of game source so it is not necessarily reliable but nothing contradicts it.
The source for 3 doesn't exist except possibly by J Mods talking to a player at Runefest. However the word ancient refers to the second age in Runescape and matches up quite nicely with irl as roughly 6000 years ago. V______ is described by the Moonclan manual as their ancient leader and also there are some Runecrafting related things that only make sense if he lived before the Temple of Light was built. As such second or first age is the working theory for him.
I have no idea what the source for the first is though I know he did not kill Thammaron himself which is what the golem's goal was. It was simply his army. To back up that he can kill entire armies Kharshai's memory mentions him killing entire armies.

The first point was probably just a rumour. I'm 95% certain it's not true.
Aviantese creating the godsword can be found in newsposts, Game Guide articles, or Ashuelot Reis. Not sure about the Icyene tears...

I looked God Wars Dungeon newspost [28 August, 2007], old versions of God Wars Dungeon page at official RS-wiki (= game guide article) and Ashuelot Reis's dialogue, but I didn't see anything which would say that they created it.

I'm with you on that one.
Another example — how do we know that Azzanadra was considered to be Zaros's "Champion"? We have this from the RS Wiki: "Azzanadra, whose prowess in battle and unconditional loyalty had earnt him the title 'Champion of Zaros'". But there isn't a source on the page. Where did it come from? Is it even true?
I think there was something else I was curious about but I've forgotten what it is now...

Zemouregal's notes- "A powerful adversary and Zaros's champion."
I also recall seeing that title in an old Q&A that seems to have vanished off the face of the net. It said something along the lines of
"Zaros would be long dead if it weren't for Azzanadra the Champion and Sliske the Shifter"

How did Gielinor's "adventurer class" come to be so prevalent in the lands? How did it originate, and what caused it to grow?
Adventurers have existed for some time. Throughout the ages in fact and largely came about because heroes were simply required to face some of the dangers of the world. The growth according to the game happened very recently and adventurers started popping up everywhere. Given that due to runes the world was in relative peacetime but dangers were emerging in the year 169 it is possible that is why it grew so much.

How did those Infernal Demons (Kal'Gerions) get to Daemonheim?
There is a story called Daemonheim Asunder in the Lore's and History section of the website which describes it in detail. It is my favourite story in the section.
