Huh...I always read it as Mazcab being a section of the planet, sorta like Misthalin. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

But it's more like "we moved from Earth to (Earth's new name)"?
Man you're way to hung up on this, I mean it's pretty minor.

It may be a weird way of saying 'we changed our world's name (and possibly moved elsewhere on this world)', but think about the naming/re-naming of countries or any other location. When you re-name/name something, it stops being what it was before, becoming "new name" instead, all the while the land itself may remain unchanged for the most part.

Like if I bought an island called "Bob Island" and lived there, I would be living on Bob Island. But if I were to change the name to "Velia Island", I would stop living on Bob Island (as it no longer exists as "Bob Island" ) and instead would be on Velia Island, it's new name.

While I do understand the concept of renaming(duh!) I wouldn't then say You moved to Velia Island. Would You?

It is just an interesting concept. Would be fun to explore.

But anyway, it's offtopic

Could always go to the surreal:
Mazcab is just 1 really. giant. goebie.

Or ... the Goebie is technically normal sized. Just going thru the Tuska Portal miniaturizes us.
We're nothing more than the equivalents of dust mites on it's back.
(Puts the parasites and such into a new perspective doesn't it?)
Anything that goes thru the portal is made larger.

Either way, the orb is in contact with the subconscious of the Goebie planet we are all on.

A giant goebe isn't out of the question, because the ancient goebe refers to another of its kind much older and larger than it, which 'holds all up'... but shrinking through the portal... no.

I hope it's more than just a Goebie. Face it, their quests and lore are cool, they are boring.

I also would of hoped it was the airut shaman. It makes perfect sense really, but I suppose an obvious answer would spoil the build up it's finally started building.

I doubt it's one of the remaining 4 anima constructs either.

It could all depend on what the orbs purpose is.

Zaros mentioned worlds that were attuned to a specific Elder God, their 'elemental' planes, if Mazcab is one of those, it would be Bik ,that would mean that Bik owns Mazcab, the statue says, 'I am the earth that will claim you bones.' Bik controls the air(that whips at your skin) , nature and earth, i believe that the goebies originated after Bik left information about her on Mazcab, or that Mazcab is a forgotten world that may have once been a candidate for the Elder Halls, notice the tortoise, Xinchanto, he wants to return to the source of anima, which would be in theory, the elder gods, maybe Xin does not know that they relocated ti Gielinor....

This is pretty disturbing. Whatever's speaking through the orb is NOT anything friendly, that's for sure. It seems to be so powerful that it doesn't even need runes and therefore never had to learn how they work. It also knows of the player and has some plans in store for them...

Hope we find out more about whatever this is!

According to Mod Deg, I think, we will learn more about the glowing orb, but nothing else will be added until the next part of Mazcab Raids. This may unlock more area to explore, as one of the bosses I think is underwater. Come the Sixth-Age, the world will need the World Guardian.
