...maybe I only started loving her because of that postbag letter's establishing that the player does so, but I'm pretty sure it's been genuine at least since The Chosen Commander. That letter was written by Jikkir Jay. That's not my character. Nuff said.
And sorry, but nope, the way I saw it, nothing in the Zanik quests hinted any sort of romantic feelings previously. And trust me on this, if Zanik wasn't this popular, there wouldn't be any hints of that nowadays either.

Azzanadra is disappointed that you didn't link us the dialogue referencing the 'Azzanadra is disappointed' thread. Not a whole dialogue, just a part in The light within's post-quest chat. Azzanadra is disappointed in-game for the third time, with Seren's partial restore in this case, if you didn't include Eluned or the dark crystal. This one is not 100% to have anything to do with it, but the topic was already around by then. And the text in Sliske's diary, A visit to an old friend in KS, saying "[...] Sliske is disappointed , Azzanadra, you've left your stink here. What dirt did my boy Nabor have on you? What a waste. Speaking of old Azzy , perhaps I ought to go let him out too. [...]" I've underlined the parts that strangely resemble the topic. But of course, this one is just a guess too, but quite likely.

In another topic I already gave my opinion on this. I think the game definately shouldn't give us any sort of fix background. We're here to come up with that on our own. That's why it's an MMO RPG . Same goes for love life, feelings, friendships, etc. on the WG's part. (Our Miscellania engagement was a bit "edgy" for example, just went along with it because there's no other way to finish the quest, and was pretty much relieved when I could turn Brand down in the last quest. And let's not forget that in a case of a straight female character, nor Zanik or Sarah works btw.) Long story short, this was only put into game imo because there's a bigger fanbase of Zanik. (If this is the new trend, then I wonder when we get the chance to flirt with Azzanadra too. FotG 2? ) Luckily this part of the dialogue can be avoided by choosing the answer that I would have chosen anyway, so it can be ignored actually. However, NPCwise I might not even mind if Zanik had feelings for the WG, it's just that it feels a bit shoehorned into the game for me, just because of the Zanik shippers. So it's not actual storywriting, but fanservice, as I've said before. Tolerable up to a point, hopefully Jagex won't go too far with it in the future.
