You have to have at least some reason to not want someone to be general. I can 'lack trust' in Hazeel because I feel like he doesn't listen to me when I talk about why Armadyl isn't a hypocrite. But that doesn't affect his ability to uphold the duties of a general.


The reason could be that they say inappropriate/disrepectful things to other players- but just 'not trusting' (for no real reason) a general isn't a real reason to not want to give them the star.


It really depends what your threshold for 'causing drama' is at that point. If ten children come in and think their opinions are sacred- we'll bleed generals, which isn't right.

The main problem I've seen is that having certain people as Generals just invites drama, because of their past actions or disagreements. I don't see that going away, and the only way to prevent another issue in the future is to stop controversial figures from being Generals in the first place.

There are clearly several factions/groups within the FC that dislike/hate eachother, and having any of those people as General is just begging for more issues. In a perfect world it wouldn't matter, but its clear that the world isn't perfect and neither is the FC. So the only thing we can do is try to find the least controversial Generals we can.

For the record, after talking to Dethal I decided it's best if he remains in total control of the FC, for the sake of unity (read: eliminating as much drama as possible from this little fiasco). So you can forget about that Option 4 silliness. I still think the finer details of my plan are solid, but creating further factions is against the FC's interests.

In any case, I recast my vote for 3. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

In case it got buried, here are the options for the current vote:

Option 1: Revert back to a system with no generals

Option 2: Elect new generals

Option 3: Allow Dethal to manage everything

I would strongly urge people to ignore Option 1. The no-generals system was a failure; that much was clear to anyone regularly active in the FC prior to this upheaval. Moderation is necessary. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

I disagree entirely. No moderation was working perfectly, FC members do not need to be monitored like kindergarteners. Electing generals and executive action have led to nothing but power abuse, drama, and headache.

I may be wrong but I think Syrus and Rubic voted for 3 but they weren't officially added (their post seems to suggest that)

Syrus just said he didn't want a vote and Rubic added a set of rules that he wanted. If they vote for an option on the thread I'll add them, but I don't make inferences so there is no confusion as to why people were recorded as they are. I'll add that as a note on the front page in case that wasn't clear.
